You mentioned Utena in your look at Lion 2: The Movie. What other anime are you into?

I haven’t watched a lot of anime in the last ten years due to temporarily putting my life on hold to become a workaholic, and I was always more of a manga person, anyway. I guess I’ve seen… Madoka? Revue, obviously. Some of that penguin one. Gurren Lagann, was the last time I remember actively thinking about anime, but I binged all the newer Saiyuki last year to dull the pain of waiting for more Reload Blast.

When I was a teen, I was super into Weiss Kreuz, and I’ve never watched a single episode, like a true 90s anime fan. There was some Ranma ½, some Tenchi Muyo, the one with the space cat lady in a leopard print bikini, a little Sailor Moon, a little Gundam Wing, a smidge of Detective Conan, fucking Evangelion… whatever was playing on Saiko Exciting back in the day.
