the world: GOLD MEDALS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT. GO FOR GOLD ALWAYS
me, sobbing my eyes out over every person who gets a medal: fuck man the sprit of the games got to me
I stayed up nights
...because I didn't want the days to end. Remember? A guitar string plucked relentlessly, and your songs played along my bones. Reality felt better than dreams. Then one day the humming stopped. The bubble burst, and my eyes opened. In the silence I felt the memory of a thousand tears. When I reached up to wipe my lashes, they were dry. My bones were cold, untouched. I'd been asleep all along.
Requesting a prompt
I’ve decided to search for the muse who lives in the well of contentment. Maybe you can help me find her? If you wish to try, please send me a prompt of anything you might like to read: Grey’s fanfiction canon or AU, original fiction, personal true story, haiku, sonnet, fluff, smut, angst, humor, analysis… seriously anything. Feel free to send it either openly or anonymously, and it’s okay to send me more than one. Fill up my well with your wishes and authentic desires, and if I find the muse inside, I’ll write with her.
““Your emotional expression is a Gift of the Spirit.” This simple declaration completely floored me. She went on to explain that when our hearts are touched by the Holy Spirit, we simply cannot help but release this emotion. Our earthly bodies are simply not capable of containing the immensity of the Holy Spirit. Our bodies find ways of cathartic release—and for me it is through crying.”
Samantha Aguinaldo-Wetterholm, “Emotion: The Gift of the Spirit”
When I look into the eyes of her children, my tears come up from the well. It's all so deep and terrifying and thrilling for me to remember that Love feels like this.
You were barely breathing.
Purple cotton over damp skin. Shadows long and golden. I was barely breathing too. You didn’t notice.
You told me you were sorry. So sorry to show me your tears, your humanity. I loved you more in that moment than in all the others that had come before. I could love you, but I couldn’t reciprocate your vulnerability. You would never love me with the truth on my cheeks. I knew that much.
Tears would have been fine, but my truth was something else. Wet hair curled around my throat and clung. My truth was fire. I couldn’t make it stop, and I wouldn’t apologize for it. I shouldn’t have to; fire is as human as tears. But you never wanted me human.
Why are tears full of salt? They burn so badly. My friends are hurting; my nation is aching from old, deep trauma, and I feel it all.
