still think it's kind of funny and also very fun to imagine that Ryland Grace is just the name Ken chose when he got settled into the Real World. i keep imagining him becoming fascinated with how human biology works, especially as his own body changes, and then how all of the rest of LIFE builds up from tiny microorganisms. I keep imagining his eyes lighting up when someone first explains and then he has this voracious appetite for knowledge. Patriarchy was one thing way back when, but WOW! He can't stop learning about science!! Books from the library, articles, lectures. He finds some adult courses for people who didn't finish school and gets caught up to a high school graduate level. He takes some random online courses from various teachers with a side hustle. Had to buy a YouTube Premium membership because the ads during the lectures he'd find were interrupting the flow of knowledge he's so eager to enjoy. He's actually so good at school and science. And then he gets into college and is so proud. And then he's like "wtf do you mean you can't have life without water? I used to literally be made of plastic." and he's off to the races from there.
