Looking back

I love the State Fair. I always have.

One my favorite parts? The rides. As a little kid, there were rides that I really wanted to go on, that my parents wouldn’t let me. Because I was too young, and those rides were too scary.

Which is why I was amazed when they finally let me go on one of the scary rides.

Looking back, I must have really been a jerk about it. Because the one they let me go on was the scariest dark ride at the Fair. To shut me up.

It worked. A little too well.

I didn’t just stop bugging them about going on scary rides. I had nightmares about it.

I didn’t go on that ride again until I was in high school. To be honest, it was kind of a let down for me.

The ride was well-maintained. Everything worked, but nothing had been added or updated. Meaning that I got to see all the things that had given me nightmares as a little kid.

I got off it feeling like an idiot for being so afraid of them at the time.

Looking back on it, I could see it for what it really was. It was a just a ride.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us, “In this world you will have trouble, but take courage, I have conquered the world.”

Jesus is telling us that no matter what we’re going through in life, no matter how hard it looks or how alone we feel right now, the outcome has already been determined.

We may not see how we’ll make it through what we’re dealing with. We may be so lost in what’s going on that it feels like God is nowhere to be found. And yet, no matter how alone or stuck we may feel, none of that changes reality.

The reality that God is with us through it all. Every moment of every day.

The reality that God will see us through it all. Even if we can’t see how.

The reality that no matter what it may seem like right now, when we go through it all with God, one day we will look back and see it for what it really was.

It was just a ride.

Keep Moving Forward with Love and Trust in Your Heart 💖🙏

Dear friend, I know life can be challenging at times, and the urge to give up may seem overwhelming. But don't give up! Trust in God and know that you are supported and loved. I want to share my journey with you to inspire and encourage you to keep moving forward.

As I embark on this new chapter in my life, I find myself both scared and excited. What keeps me grounded is my deep trust in God, who has proven time and again that everything will work out as long as I have faith. When He guides me, I follow, even when it's not easy. Trusting in Him and myself has led me to experience the beauty of a life filled with love and grace.

It's incredible how things fall into place when we stop forcing them and start trusting in God's divine plan. As I seek new job opportunities, I feel a sense of peace knowing that He is with me every step of the way. I am also grateful for the blessings in my life, like my grandmother's improved health, and I appreciate the power of doing what's right in the eyes of God.

My friend, what challenges are you facing in your life? Are you trying to face them alone or are you handing them over to God? I invite you to trust in His love and know that He has your back. Together, we can walk this path of faith, hope, and love, and continue to move forward towards a brighter tomorrow.
