Technically, Asher shouldn’t have been too worried about Dane after the day after the attack. He’d been there with him, had checked to make sure he was okay, had walked the perimeter with him when all was said and done. So for all intents and purposes, Asher should have been content to know that Dane was okay, and probably should have saved his attention for the other guys at camp who he hadn’t checked up on yet. Still, after he’d been released from the infirmary for his own injuries, Asher found himself waiting at the entrance of The Aspida house, with two cups of coffee, one in each hand, as he waited for Dane to come out.
His gaze flashed idly to the entrance, the minitaur head staring staunch and proud at the door. Flashes of Dane just a few days earlier, yelling at the Mageia hydra bringing a grin to his face. “Don’t suppose I could bribe you with a coffee?” he held up his own cup, but when the stone creature gave no response, he just shrugged. “More for me...” he muttered, leaning on against a pillar, waiting for his best friend to emerge.
