1983 would mean she was 5 when her dad died but i thought kid sameen looked a bit older? the dates could be part of the cover since she wasnt born in iran either

oh good point. (gonna be honest, i have zero clue how old kids look). that would also mean she’d graduated undergrad in 2005ish, med school in 2009 (i’m assuming based on normal years in hs and 4 years each undergrad/med), started her residency...so maybe joined the marines in 2010-2011? and Relevance is 2012ish (i think? i didn’t go check). so that seems like it’s not quite the right amount of time. i guess. 1980-1981 probably works better. did kid sameen look 7-8?

holy crap, thanks for that. good resource to have. they do speculate she graduated way early which would make the later timeline make more sense. that’s...really young to have graduated undergrad but she is a genius so sure.

i read a thread that said the machine turned their phone thingies into tasers because they were lying on the same spot but idk about that. i read another one that said she turned them against each other

threatening control makes some sense, though I’d almost expect control to be like just let her scalpel me For America. Root still needs enough time to get out the door before getting shot (like even in the leg if they weren’t trying to kill her), but eh, she’s a badass with very little regard for her own safety and pumped full of amphetamines so sure. 

the taser thing, yeah, idk either. turning them against each other would be a very Root way of dealing with them but I tend to think the threatening control scenario is more likely logistically. i’m just bummed we didn’t get a cool action scene.

i dont think they were going for that though . cause the guy said he didnt know about the torture documents but later we found out that he was lying and that he was going to kill h*rold. he was paralleled with r*ssel tr*nt in the flashbacks and it was pretty clear he was evil so i always thought they were going for 'damn she has a point'

thats how i interpreted it as well but i was so biased towards her when i watched i assumed it was meant to be like. look at our new villain who tortures people who dont deserve it
