HE IS A FUCKING CUBE
Alright, well, my horrific allergies aside, I arrived home to a nice treat. I forgot about Tart Magica, but there it was, waiting for me. I read it all, and goddamn, Riz is the best. She’s so cool! The coolest there has ever been! I love her powers! Shadow manipulation? She can send things, including herself, through shadows. That’s so cool! They even have stats in the opening and closing of the book explaining where their strengths lie. Apparently she’s all around great, but has like 0 defensive power and has to make up for it with sick evasion skills and warping through shadows. It’s so awesome.
Anyway, the story itself is pretty great so far. I’d probably get more out of it if I knew anything about history ever. Tart is adorable, and I really like that she’s a One-Shot unit who can attack one time in a massive burst of energy, but then is spent. It’s a nice take.
The only thing throwing me off is Kyubey, and it’s for the funniest reason imaginable. They call him Cube. I cannot stop giggling about this. I don’t even know why, it’s just hysterical. I think I was just hoping that the stupid name meant they were cheap knock-off Kyubey the Incubators made because there weren’t enough of them to meet the demands the war caused. Alas, it’s just Kyubey will a weird name translation...
