hey is the excitement over enough for me to admit that i did not really enjoy heated rivalry. which is to say

i actively dislike the books they're written quite shittily (to me) (also the amount of racism RR gets away with by writing ""race-blindly"" she fails at this horribly with her writing of shane and yuna esp in consideration with their incidentally-written neurodivergence but that is a separate post)

the show is watchable but dialogue is actual shit except for 4 shining moments everyone gifsets anyway

i like the concept, plot, characters & themes. it fails in presentation. anyway this is why i'm glad it's caught fire on ao3 even if it means a lot of people are discovering ao3 BECAUSE of HR are pieces of shit even coleydoesthings had to vaguepost as being pieces of shit.

HR just has a supernatural problem. its concept is goated as fuck but executed middlingly to badly with <10 shining bits.

#lore drop about me I'm a student advocate for disabled students in my uni #I.e I get angry at admin and fill in a bunch for forms for my classmates who don't always have the spoons for it #I have spent the last five days hounding the accommodations team to do their fucking job #2 of the students I work with need to get retests bc they had flare ups during the last two weeks of finals #the students have all the papers they need and some extras the case has been made #but the depts now trying to say the disabilities they're applying for help with aren't real #same department by the way that lets cis abled men take up wheelchair seating when multiple students who need it ARE THERE #and who don't let parents breastfeed or take time to pump #pieces of shit #I got of the phone with them 15 minutes ago read hiccup whump and am somehow angrier #I cannot imagine making anyone I work with go this alone #being in the HOSPITAL and then being told oh yeah you have an in person meeting with faculty to discuss whether you deserve help or not #when I'm off hours I try to be normal and chill but it is so hard to do #why can't my own teachers wear n95s when meeting 1-1 with immunocompromised students #I could do that when I was fourteen and have been doing it again for months now #basically as soon as I was made aware that my govt was lying about Covid numbers and that I absolutely had to go back to full time masking #why can't they? they don't even walk as much #sorry im. really really angry #I wish hiccup and his friends in the fic I read had an advocate. can I sign up #I'm not familiar with the US healthcare system (Indian) but by god I will try #ok rant over bye #goddamnit dave

Deltarune played by a benevolent player (doesn’t make Kris go snowgrave, acts according to wherever their will pushes us even if it isn’t necessarily nice or what we’d do) is still such a fucking tragedy man.

We want them to be happy but they don’t know that we want that. Whatever we want, we know we’re being used for an end Kris hates anyway so there’s nothing we can do about it because we don’t know the end Kris has us for.

We don’t know what they’re even trying to tell us or what they’re saying because the mechanism that gives us agency mutes them entirely.

All this and the game can’t continue in our absence. In undertale, we could leave the cast alone after their happy endings and assume they continue without us. We can’t leave Kris alone even as a mercy.
