"Before… Shinra basically advertised me to the world?"
"It… was different. Now that I look back I was a very different person back then; a lot more quiet and withdrawn. I had my friends… I had Genesis and Angeal but they mostly stuck together… our friendship didn’t hit its peek until we started going out on missions together… I guess once when you’re close to dying with someone, it creates a different kind of bond."
He sighed.
"I was a little numb. I had… one cause… and that was to get stronger. So all I did was train harder and harder each day. Quite simple really…" he smiled. "I had nothing better to do."
