Who Am I?

I’m sure we’ve all come to this question at one point or another in some form or way. No matter our background, standard we hold ourselves to, current state of being, etc., we at times forget who we are. Some of us may feel like we were always in the dark on who we really are. To answer these types of questions, we experiment with different things such as: Music, colors, fashion, lifestyle choices, etc. We look, then search, then some just decide to come to the conclusion that we just can’t figure ourselves out so we just decide to go with the flow and “see where life takes us”. We all have different stories on how we came to where we are now. We all have different sets of ideas about why we’re here. We all have even heard the clichés to try to help us pull through our difficult seasons such as “You’re meant for something more” or “Don’t worry, it’ll get better with time” and some other weird phrases. Whether you’re at this part of your journey in this life, passed it, or soon to get there, we’ll all come across this sooner or later, more than once. Here are three points that I can leave you with if you’re at this point of the journey (Or you can save this for a rainy day and remember these points when you need them.)

You’re NOT a bad idea: You’re not a mistake, certainly not an after thought or a regretted decision.  

You’re NOT a good idea: No matter what standard you set yourself to, you are not that standard. If you slip up, you’re not your mistake. If you succeed, you’re not your success.

You ARE a “God” Idea: There’s an awesome phrase that says, “Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian just like going to Taco Bell doesn’t make you a taco.” At times, we have our own personal identity crisis. We feel like we’ve lost touch and from there we somehow end up in a pit of “I don’t know who I am.” Here’s the simple answer: You are a destined word from God placed in this world for this time. You’re not a mistake or an accident, you are a plan from God placed in the world to impact the people around you.
