Seasons of War
“It’s beautiful, who would wield it?”
“Only the fiercest among us even could”
Here is what I needed to design the Godkiller Sword for.
Willboss27 (Reddit) wanted Chibi Mev wielding the GK Sword.
I think I finally got the hang of Chibis, I do like this one more than the Chibi Nef one I did earlier tbh. This one is closer to the stereotypical chibi style.
The Godkiller Sword is done.
10 won but it really didn't work out with the colouring I had in mind which I didn't notice until I started to actually colour it, which is awfully on-brand for me-
Second place was a draw so I just went with design 11 bc I couldn't be bothered to do another poll.
Also, I headcanon the runes weren't originally on the sword, but Mevolent etched them in to 'reclaim' the sword for the Faceless Ones.
Godkiller Sword Concepts 2
During the last poll 4 and 6 were the favourites and someone suggested sword 6 with the hilt of sword 4 so here are a few more variations based on that.
Overall feeling better about this set than the last one tbh.

Need a Godkiller Sword design
everything was fine while blocking out the shapes but the good times stopped the second I had to fill in said shapes with an actual design RIP

Comments like "I like sword x but it would look better with that aspect from sword y" or references/descriptions of what you think the Godkiller Sword looks like would be most appreciated!
Making replica God-Killers poses a challenge because of the bow. People would try to draw it and it would probably just snap, making bows is a very sophisticated process, more so than even making swords. So they would probably have to use a very stiff and unyielding material as the core to stop it from bending at all tbh, and plate wood or wood-like materials on the outside. I also imagine packaging the spear would be challenging because long.
Those 'weapons' wouldn't be real. they would just be decorations/props/toys. The kind I know (we had some at uni and one at my internship place) were made from a soft material so they wouldn't hurt. If these replicas were made out of metal/wood/cloth/ect. they would be super novelty. It's more likely to be made from foam, plastic or resin. And if they are made from plastic or resin they could be designed in a way that they can be taken apart for shipping.
Not a prop, but while looking at what those prop weapons are usually made of I found this Frostmourne Blade. It's an acrylic standee but with a sword instead of a character.

Ngl this is pretty and it's small enough to fit into every room. It's also rather cheap to make.
I also found some letter-opened Witcher swords which I absolutely love.

Imagine opening your letters with the Godkiller sword 😍 even better, imagine it's designed in a way that it has exactly the right size to fit into a Figma action figure of Mevolent.
As reference, here is the Figma Hunter from "Bloodborne".

So is that golden silhouette your design of the God-Killer sword? Personally I imagine it vaguely as a very ornate Scottish claymore without the quatrefoils.
Oh, this is just some random fantasy sword design bc I don't like my old Godkiller Sword design anymore. I wanted to do a redesign for it like I did for the Obsidian Blade, but DoA killed my motivation for that.
Ngl, personally every time I see the Hollowslayer Greatsword from DS3 it always makes me think of the Godkiller Sword. I headcanon it to kinda look like a golden mix between the Hollowslayer Greatsword and the Flamberge (minus the curly blade) tbh.

In the books Mev's sometimes described as carrying sword in a way where the blade rests on his shoulder, so I'm inclined to believe that the base of the blade is covered in cloth/leather so it's safe for Mev to do that.
According to Landy the Godkiller Sword is based on Conan’s father's sword which looks like this.

And I just... no. Nope.
Ya think Mev is tall enough that he could wield a two-hander like a normal sword?
