It was just a little cast. How could one little cast make changing shirts this difficult? After much struggling Clara had managed to take off her blouse, but was now struggling to get the next one on. Her cast causing her to get tangled up in a mess of fabric. She sighed when she heard the voice, she had hoped he wouldn't catch her like this. "..Maybe just a bit."

He was in one of those moods. She couldn't quite describe them. It seemed like just a moment in time when every lonely feeling came crashing down and they seemed to be hitting him hard. Although she was the impossible girl she never knew what quite to say to him when he got like this. She had been lonely before. So dreadfully lonely. The first year after she had lost her mother was the loneliest years of her life, but he had over 2,000 years of loneliness he had to carry. There wasn't much empathizing she could do.She always just stayed quiet. She stuck by his side in case he wanted to talk, or just the reassurance that he wasn't absolutely alone. Besides, being properly alone when you're lonely was one of the most dangerous things in the universe. 

In the silence Clara's hand. Her small fingers traced the mountains and the valleys of his knuckles as she let him to his thoughts. She wished she could find the right words, find the right thing to bring him out of this mood. Until her clever mind came up with something she simply pressed a kiss to his knuckles as if it were a promise. A promise that this feeling would pass.

It was one of those days. One of the tough days when something--though she honestly couldn't say what--hit the Doctor and hit him hard. She was never sure what things would exactly trigger him, or what they caused him to remember. Obviously the memories weren't so pleasant. She found him sitting on the steps his shoulders hunched looking the slightest defeated. She sat next to him and peeled his hands from his face and her lips brushed his eyelids that were shut tightly before she wrapped her arms around him.

Everybody Talks || Clara and Eleven

Clara was unusually impatient as she made her way back to her classroom with an armful of newly-copied papers. Although, to be fair, it wasn't really entirely out of the ordinary—she was often like this on Wednesdays. She loved teaching with her whole heart, but there was nothing more taxing than enduring Coal Hill all day when she knew in just a few hours she'd be running with the Doctor.

And maybe the universe was listening this particular Wednesday, because as she approached her classroom door, she could hear a familiar voice through the doorway. Her first reaction to hearing the Doctor was an immediate smile—but she quickly remembered that this was her job, and he wasn't supposed to be here.

Shifting the pile of papers to one arm, Clara rested her free hand on the doorframe as she peered into her classroom, her eyebrows raising questioningly as she waited for the Doctor to notice her listening in on his conversation with her students.
