When you come from a family who gives you everything you need AND could want in life, what do you do after high school? Emilio 'Milo' Flores didn't have the answer for a lot time. He simply went through the motions. He went to school, got stellar grades, and socialized. He was the IT guy of his school. But he wasn't some ditzy idiot. He wasn't allowed to be. When your adopted parents are two hollywood actors? You learn real quick that perfection is a neccessity. Whether the perfection is TRUE or merely made up? That was irrelevant. Milo pretended to be dumb for quite a bit of his life. It's easier to go through life when people simply think that you're an asshole or a idiot. So he pretended to be both. However, the one thing that did bring him joy? Was video games. Those he loved and actualy felt something about. The story...The excitement....The game play...Especially games where he could troll people. He lived for all of it. 

So when his parents forced him to go to college after graduating high school with All a's, even with him taking some early college courses, Milo had definitely been less than thrilled. But the part that sucks the most? He was actually good at it. Although he shouldn't be surprised. He's good at everything he attempts. But he would love to have been bad at it and not have to deal with it. Still...It appeased his parents. But Milo never planned on becoming a doctor or whatever. Not when he knew what his true desire was. And it wasn't working some 12 hour shift at a hospital. 

Games had been such a big part of his life, and why couldn't that be his occupation as well? Streaming has gotten bigger and bigger...First though? He had to build a online persona that people would flock to. He had always been in shape, but he went to the gym more to forge his body into one that would draw people in. Men, women, and everyone else. He didn't care. As long as he was getting the views and money? He was considering it a win. Milo's parents hated it, but they let him do it while he was doing college. His platform getting bigger and bigger. Until after graduation when he decided to work at a hospital for aproximately four months before quitting and doing his streaming full time. And if you ask him? That was the best decision he had ever made.

he grew up on stories of super heroes, dashing and daring and brave in the face of adversity. life and home was simple, nothing special, but nothing to be disappointed at either. parents that cared for him, schoolwork that was maybe above average, but nothing to really write home about, and a head for art. he grew up dreaming of comic books, of life being something so much more than the day to day, of finding a job with a creative outlet.

but life decided for him that no, dreams come crashing down, and responsibility falls upon your shoulders too quick to get from beneath it's weight. life decided that as he aged, those childhood dreams were necessary to be set aside, and for that he at least held true to them in is time. he attended university, got a job, made a life for himself like he was supposed to. and time went on.

born at marine core base hawaii to commander wilson harris and leila harris, the middle child to the navy couple who often moved every few years as wilson's station rose. ever since ronan could remember, he was obsessed with fish of all shapes and sizes. ronan was often rewarded with books or trips to the aquarium where he would be mesmerized by how beautiful, curious, and whimsical the different types of fish were and the other aquatic friends who lived there. growing up, they moved to okinawa, italy, greece, and korea sticking with the other navy brats as they were quickly forced to learn enough to survive. this forced ronan from a young age to learn language and he was a polyglot by the time he was eight, having japanese, korean, and english conversationally under his belt. greek and italian came a little bit later. ronan hadn't identified his upbringing as traumatic but it sure was tough. there were expectations that just differed from some of the others being the son of a commander and he needed to be immaculate at all times, never embarrassing the unit. luckily for ronan, his elder siblings were pretty radical so it made him look that much more compliant. he tried his best not to make too many waves and focused on schooling, learning, and exploring culture wherever he went. the young boy grew into a teenager and was friendly enough, a bit on the quiet side as he preferred fish to people and loved to sit nestled into a book versus being out in the world. it was at sixteen that his father made it a personal choice to teach his son the value of exercise and lifting weights, something that helped stimulate ro's mind with clarity until this day. at eighteen, he would finally leave for the university of miami to study marine biology. ronan had an incredible four years learning and working with dolphins at the dolphin research center, where he really figured himself out wholly and did far too many things a sheltered boy should've learned during his youth but he was shameless and young. at twenty-two, he found himself tapped on the shoulder to move to alaska to study the reproductive habits of salmon and fishing migration with the university of alaska, where he focused on his research building a small community of others where he played board games with, dabbled in microdosing, participated in the crossfit games, marathoned, broken up with and lived an overall quiet but active life. he loved the quiet but always wished for something a bit more — well, life knocked hard.

The guilt laden words of a pitiful man ring in his ear. They always do around this time…

Vinay Soltani's birthday usually hits on or around Nowruz. Lately, he spends a lot of his time in silence, breeding grounds for looking back at his life and wondering how he went from bringing in the new year explosively with joy and family to feeling like all he can contribute to his existence is constant brainrot.

Every time he looks at his son, he imagines her standing behind him. They have the same eyes. It's the darkest, most midnight looking brown, and if you look closely enough, you can see the stars in their gazes.

With her in his life, Vinay felt vibrant, he felt like he meant something, he felt vindicated, like standing in her presence was the universe's confirmation that he was right to move to Houston and follow his heart despite his family's warnings. When she was gone, he was completely lost. It's as if his guiding light was extinguished, leaving him to be the guiding light for their son, and he knew he couldn't do it alone.

Arya knew it too.

Things inside the Soltani household were bare minimum and nothing else. As a kid, visiting his friends houses with their parents was always a completely different dynamic, and while he couldn't put words to it, it always made him reluctant to go back home. This unknown feeling that something had always been missing kept him up at night sometimes, guiding him to sneak into his father's bedroom and unlock his phone to find a completely different man in the camera roll. Someone who grinned from ear to ear at everything, who drunkenly ran through sprinklers with all of his friends, and was always laughing. He found photos of his dad kissing on a beautiful woman with eyes like his own.

Some days he got peeks of that joyous, loving man. The best way to get his dad to smile was with good grades, so nothing on this planet was more important than bringing home those report cards. His dad was always busy working during soccer games and track meets, but when he brought home trophies, the grin made it more than worth it. Arya didn't find out that his dad never graduated college until he told him he'd be attending Rice University in the fall and the man broke down in tears for the first time Arya had ever seen.

Kids tend to lash out when they're not getting the right attention by their parents, but Arya was a late bloomer. His anger came retrospectively, it came with understanding. All this time, Arya just felt tolerated. After seeing all those photos and listening in on the rare times his father would reminisce with friends, he'd been led to one single conclusion. Vinay's dark, sulking depression was all his fault. So he 'just tolerated' his father when he called to check up or came to visit him on campus. He graduated with honors and with resentment sewn into his heart. He was doing what his father would always tell him. 'Be better than me.'

His MBA wasn't just a degree, it was license to do everything his pitiful father came home after work every night and sat there wishing he'd done. Arya focused on his numbers, his impact, and his research. They were all the things that earned Arya a short lived smile from his father back then. The difference is that Vinay could only give short smiles. His professional life gives him promotions and salary renegotiations and suddenly he's made partner at such a young age.

Arya considers calling his father for his birthday. They'd only spoken every 4 or 5 months for the last 6 years. It's late, so he'll probably be asleep, but it's worth a try. When Vinay picks up, his voice is rough. He sounds like he's been crying. "Shaharyar. Son. We need to talk."

biography:

( TW: death, blood, violence, animal abuse & suicidal thoughts ) alejandro was not born in the best care. having been put into the system since the moment he was born, due to his mother passing away in a car accident from a drunk driver - he was still in the womb, only seven months into the pregnancy. being tossed around from family to family that adopted him, nothing stuck. ale had to grow up fending for himself even at a young age. knowing that he was never going to be able to have a family. ale wasn't able to handle the system anymore, he took what he had to his name, which was not much and ran as far as he could. seventeen years old on the streets, the boy figured his way around, trying to get a job - nothing was able to stick. he was not able to stand people walking all over him which angered him quickly which was then where he got the job that last him almost his whole life and he was good at it. a personal trainer, boxing - just one of the best outlets for him to get a hold of the war inside him. even though that was able to last for the short term while he was only at the gym, when it came to being out in the world that was a different story. the ups and down of growing up had gotten harder and harder as time went on. no friends around to help him keep his head up or keep him in cheek. every person that ale allowed to get close ended up hurt mentally or physically by him - he didn't mean to. always regretting the way he just snaps with no sense of control or why he's always so damn angry all the time. it was then that the one thing that actually was able keep him in check came into his life. *nox* -- his black pitbull that he saved from a fighting ring he was invited to. it was an underground fight club that started off with dog fights. the poor pup was just near a year old and he was already being trained to fight. that did not sit right with. ale felt this rush of anger, a normal feeling and he knew that he was about to black out -- and he did. snapping out of it with men all over him pulling him out of the fight. about six or so men all on the ground, blood all over the place, his own face busted, knuckles cut open - all he saw was red and not knowing what had happened to him. being pulled away into a room that had the boss of the fight club, ale began to explain what happened, trying his best to calm down and not let the anger take over. he was offered a way out - something he felt he had no choice as the men around him had guns and ready to take him out. fight for them, do what they ask him to. in return he will get paid which was one of the only turning points along with a better outlet to just let out everything he had inside, years of anger and abandonment issues. he was able to put in to take nox out of the ring, getting them to think over the animal ring and allow for ale to be the main show. bringing in fights that have almost put him near death as well as the men he fought against. ale was trying his best, making sure to keep himself in check - provide for now his companion, nox. he would do anything and everything for him, even helping him shake off those dark thoughts he has everyday since he was young. telling himself that the world would be better off without him, less people would be hurt around him. still having not let anyone into his life but nox, this was the only support he had going for him. he needed to stay strong, stay alive - not for himself, but for nox. that is how he was able to make it through it all, the idea that nox was waiting for him always, the only family he's ever had.
