like i kinda mentioned in the other one, i spent a lot of time looking at the actual dude. part of it was because of hellsing, but the other part was just because i loved monster movies and bram stoker’s book, so i went really fucking hard lmao i’ve always hyperfixated on characters when i get invested. so the most interesting shit for me was learning that a lot of the blood-drinking devil myths about the actual vlad were saxon propaganda. they were super pissed at him. and i mean, fair, he was a total asshole and killed people just for stealing food and he was trying to kick the saxons off their land, but it’s pretty wild learning that one of my favourite books exists because some pissy bitch named adelwulf or some shit went down 2 their local tavern and was like oh my god guys you’ll never guess what i just learned abt vlad
