She reaches into the bin, picking out one of the brightly colored things out. She squeezes it between her fingers, causing it to become misshapen. Tilting her head to the side, she observes how it changes shape, becoming sticky to her fingers.

"Hey!"

Someone calls out to her, looking grumpy about it.

"Don't play with the candies. You gotta use the scoop. No- wait- don't put that one back- Yer dirty fingers all over it..." She had gone to put it back, and then instead shoves it in her mouth, much to the chagrin of the sole employee.

"You gotta pay for that, ma'am..."

"well, aren't you a dashing little thing." eyes had been drawn to an illuminated flash of yellow, gaze left to descend across what was left beneath. palette alone was something to admire; such a soft periwinkle accented with dashing accents of yellow!

curiosity is quick to guide their hand, a clawed digit bestowing the crown a quick prod. "tell me, little bee fly, how do you make it stay like that? it's adorable."

"i would so adore one for myself! perhaps in a more complimentary silver, however." expectantly does alarian lean down, enough so to keep their visage in the shorter mans sights. "you will tell me, won't you? ♥︎"

the deep red of his aura was hard to ignore, standing in stark contrast of their greyscale surroundings. it's a color that has always attracted her, red like the very blood in her veins, the source of the power she relied upon so heavily. the power she no longer had here. if she had the wherewithal to feel anger right now, she surely would have.

perhaps part of her, deep down, hoped his red was that of fury, so that she may feel it again.

wishful thinking was not within her grasp just yet, however.

"You're so red," she states, voice devoid of it's normal playful lilt. it's nothing but steel, frigid in nature. she extends a hand, but it is not welcoming. "I'd like some of it."

Crouched by a park bench was a man, studiously scribbling notes and sketches as he watched a trail of ants. They were carrying small bits of food, and he watched wide-eyed with rapt attention as each one shifted in hue upon passing by. The corners of his moustache twitched; each and every single one of these creatures made up a section of life themselves.

"Ants were of... abnormal hue... in close proximity... to..." He mumbled, his quill scratching the page with each word. On the bottom of the page was a drawing of tiny ants, gleefully holding hands in a circle. Looking up from his notebook, he smiled wide. "You creatures are so small. And yet, you make up such an important part of life! Truly fascinating. Yes, each and every one of you."

"We only hear about you guys in books. You're not..." He trails off. He remembers the effect it does to fairies when children said that they didn't exist and that they were not real.

"But I always believed that you guys were so!" Of all the kids and teenagers in his world, he was probably the only one who believed. So many others didn't.

If he saw one, he probably could have wished to be free!
