Jesus warns because he loves.

Everything he did, does, and will continue to do, is always out of his love and goodness.

What kind of father doesn’t warn his children of the dangers of straying onto the wrong paths in life?

“Don’t you ever take drugs”

“Always drive the speed limit, and always follow the rules of the road”

“Don’t eat that chocolate cake in one sitting, you’ll get sick”

God isn’t just a good father, he’s THE good Father. As such, isn’t it a blessing that he warns us of upcoming danger?

The brokenness of our lives becomes the pieces that God will use to build us back up for his glory. Your tests come before your rewards.

It’s the fact that God warns us of the coming dangers of this world that signifies his love for us.

He does not wish that any destruction should come to those he loves, but rather, that they repent of their sin, and love. He wishes for us to choose life, to choose him, over sin and death.

It’s when we seek God that we will be spared from his holy wrath and the destruction that sin brings upon us. As Proverbs 29:25 states, “…whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe”.

God’s justice and love are intertwined with each other. God does not with to condemn his creation, but to save it. His passion is to end the injustice and evil of this world, so that he can have his creation flourish in safety and peace, with him in its midst (just like the Garden of Eden).

A good gardener wishes to see his plants grow, not cut them down.
