[ 10AM ] a walled-in garden full of flowers, just as the afternoon heat sets in. (from @grey-eyed-thea)
If she had to describe her January so far with one word, Odette would pick "overwhelming," but even that would be a massive understatement.
The influx of tourists leading to an uptick in interest in Callaway properties had been a welcome but time-consuming change, but then cleaning up all the mess from the raid had turned everything into an avalanche of problems that all needed dealt with. So many upset people, so many issues at every turn.
She'd had a persistent headache almost every day now from hours of tedious meetings and staring at paperwork and presentations and graphs until she went home late with burning eyes.
On this particular day, after a particularly tense meeting, she'd realized it was time to get out and touch some grass, literally. So she'd come to her favorite part of the Olympian Gardens to take a moment, close her eyes, and breathe in the sweet floral-scented air, listen to the chirps of birds flitting around overhead, feel the crisp wind on her face, and just completely recenter.
She hadn't expected to find someone else in her little corner, and she was a tad apprehensive when she realized who it was. She liked Thea, but she wasn't sure the feeling was mutual. It was hard to get a read on her, and in their few interactions, Odette found herself dialing up her likability efforts to the max, never sure if it had any impact at all.
She mustered up all the warmth she could find in her as she approached. "Thea! It's good to see you. I love this little spot. It's beautiful here, isn't it?"
