when Brian Jones, of the Rolling Stones, was pronounced dead in 1969—Genesis had already established a premeditated theory. Gen continually perceived (and made publicly apparent) Mick Jagger to be jealous of Jones' naturally prodigious talents, along with Jagger's relentless attempts to be thee sole frontman of the group. therefore, it's widely believed that Jones was ultimately murdered, opposed to the official statement of "death by misadventure."

Psychic TV's track entitled 'Godstar' was an homage to Brian Jones and his life that was—eventually being recognized as their greatest hit.
