“ things must be catastrophic if you’re calling me at this hour. ” nobara mumbled after squinting at her phone — specifically, at the name that popped up on screen.

her eyes widened next as she sat up straight in bed. "...you better not be dying on me, fushiguro." her hand was shaking as she gripped the phone. "like, if this is you trying to tell me goodbye or some sappy shit, forget it."

she didn't always jump to worst case scenario but what was she supposed to think? that he suddenly realized he was in love with her or something equally stupid and unlikely to happen?

Megumi hadn't expected her to react with so much emotion so quickly. But really he should have seen that coming knowing how she could act at times.

"I'm not dying, though I may need your help avoiding that in a minute." Fushiguro replied. Trying to keep his voice steady as he talked to her over the phone. "I know you're a morning person but its a bit of an emergency." He wasn't trying to oversell the situation they were in. "It's either a curse user or just a lot of high level curses running around. And we're some of the only people in the vicinity."

[   welp, i’m on jjk fandom outskirts, so how unpopular it is, i dunno; but i guess i don’t mind if jjk has “bad”/bittersweet ending, actually i would like to see it. what’s happening in manga is right now kinda crazy, so it’s actually kinda hard to deduce where it’s going. i’d love to see happy ending for all of them, don’t get me wrong, i love the kids & i wish the best. but i think everything goes well end would be kinda out of place with current events.   ]

When Megumi saw Nobara struck he felt something crack inside of his mind. He was used to people getting hurt in their line of work, for that was an inevitability of being a Jujutsu sorcerer. However this time seeing her hurt by the curse this time had put far too much pressure on his psyche.

Enough to make him explode in an inferno of rage.

"BACK OFF!" He let out with an angry shout, a dangerous tone in his voice as he rushed the curse. He reached into the shadows beneath his feet to pull a sword out from where he had been storing all of these cursed tools. Like a hot knife through butter he cut deep into the curse with a heavy swing. Though this wasn't enough to kill it, Fushiguro wasn't about to let up either.

In an animalistic fury he continued to hack at the monstrous curse. A mix of angry grunts and unhinged laughter escaping him as he cut into the monstrosity. It didn't take more then a few minutes longer before the curse lay dead at his feet. He paused and held back for a moment to catch his breath. A bit worn out after his chaotic display. He simply looked back towards Nobara to ask her a simply question. "Are you okay?" He asked softly, trying to save some face after that hard outburst.

"Yeah sorry about that... apparently I had a concussion from my last exorcism. So I've been a bit out of it..." Fushiguro explained, though he seemed to feel guilty that he had worried Nobara. "Sorry for not getting back to you."

Was inviting younger student for a walk in middle of the night the smartest thing? Probably not & Toge will have to deal of consequences of his decision, but from what he got girl wasn’t really from here. So might as well show city from bit different point than usual, even if it might be bit crooked by tiredness. 

/   I promise everything will be alright, be okay. Your eyes are tired but keep 'em open; 'cause you wouldn't want to miss a thing.   / Signing bit slower than usual, not even sure if girl could understand him well. If needed, he can always jump over to notes on his phone.
