♕⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚✧ — Ugh. Unbelievable. To think, she was so ready for that snowball fight and she thought she did pretty well. She hit the announcer and her boss, and that was all that mattered, but still ended up with a lousy three points and all she had to show for it was a couple of lousy coupons. This was just too humiliating! Did whoever decided on the rewards think she was poor and needed coupons?

Lanna accepted them anyway because hey, she could probably hustle someone with them.

She wasn't sure where she was headed in her anger driven path, but someone besides her was about to have a bad day. Or she could just go to the docks for a minute to recollect herself. Recollection was unlikely, but it was worth a shot.

Fishy Persons II Haley & Denny

With the cold weather, Haley had to bundle up before taking a walk anywhere. The islands were decidedly a beautiful place, and her feet took her to the pier--she did love the scent of the ocean air.

A man fishing at the edge of the pier didn’t deter her; in the past she may have silently judged fishermen for getting in her way (even if they were there first.) But Haley was trying hard to not be like that anymore. She was just here to get clarity, an open mind, and--

Smack 

...And a fish to the face, apparently.

“Ugh!” Haley exclaimed, scrambling to get the slimy sea creature off of her face, nose wrinkling at the scent.

Gone Fishing || Denny & Elli

The world was quite, bathed in a hazy blue light, before the sun broke the horizon. Elli made her way to the pier, her cooler, tackle box, and fishing pole in tow. She stood before the docks began, her feet hesitant to leave solid ground. 

She scanned the rows of boats, looking for one owned by a man with a mess of brown hair and amber eyes. She was a tad early--she could barely sleep the night before--but he’d assured her he, too, was a morning person. 

Her gaze drifted off to the horizon, where the endless sea met the endless sky, bleeding into one. Her thoughts lingered on what lay hidden beyond that line. If her father had seen the sails with crossbones emerge from that convergence. Or if they came upon him as if floating up from the depths below. 

Hearing footsteps interrupted the unwanted thoughts. She noticed movement on the pier now along with a familiar purple bandanna. Elli smiled, about to take a step forward before remembering she was still on solid ground. One more step and she’d be in uncharted waters.

She took a deep breath before stepping onto the docks. Every fiber of her being screamed, pleaded, with her to go back. That she was being stupid and this would be a huge mistake. Nothing good would come of this. Her heartbeat began to quicken and her breaths became a little shorter. 

“G-good morning, Denny,” Elli said with a practiced smile. “How’s everything looking? We shipshape?” Hopefully a conversation would help distract her mind.

not so unlucky pair | kyle & denny

Working part-time at Ceto Boardwalk was always a delight for Kyle. He met with all kinds of people, food was great, he was right near the ocean, and it was generally more relaxing. Of course he has... quiet the eccentric boss, but that was part of the fun, too.

After his shift, he decided to chill out near the area before going home. He still had time to spare, and grabbing a bite here while watching the sun go down seemed like a good plan. He was minding his own business when he sees a familiar figure. There at the docks he spotted the man with curly hair wrapped in a bandanna and a chill and care-free vibe. 

Kyle can’t exactly call him a friend since they just met while gambling (they’re not addicted, he swears), but he was one of the few people he actually knows somehow in Leuda. He found himself calling out to the guy, feet already moving towards the docks.

"Hey!” Now that Kyle was actually approaching him, he realized he doesn’t know his name, and he never introduced himself either. And so he just goes with something they were both familiar with... “Uh, I hope you don’t have exploding pies nearby, he he.”

Something Fishy

❃.✮:▹❁ — One of the most important things about working in a restaurant was good customer service. Usually, people would come in and sit down, then Komari would wait approach within a few minutes upon spotting them. 

Now, normally, she wouldn’t judge any person who walked through those doors, but the man that just entered reeked of a strong fishy odor. Either he hadn’t showered in a while, or he was a fisherman. 

Still, Komari approached the man, pen and pad in hand along with a customer friendly smile. 

“Hey there! The name’s Komari, and I’ll be yer server today. What can I get for ya?”

♕⋆˚｡⋆୨୧˚✧ — It doesn’t take her long to think of an answer. Lanna crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

“Please...” She scoffed. “I don’t cry in front of anyone unless it’s for acting purposes~” 

That was a sign of weakness, vulnerability, something she couldn’t let herself be exposed to. What happened in the arena was a completely different circumstance. If it weren’t for Mikhail and his stupid grin and optimism... 

Anyway, she wouldn’t have to worry about that anymore if she just kept her pride and head held high as ever.
