He placed a small coffee cake upon her desk with a little note that said "Happy Birthday From a Criminal!"

She had not even ordered anything besides a cup of coffee yet there was a cake sitting in front of her. Apparently the staff discovered it was her birthday, which was possible if they overheard her conversations. It was a welcome surprise!

Although what did they mean by “from a criminal” Lisa wondered. She peered towards the counter where the proprietor and his helping hand worked behind. She did hear rumors of boss taking in a criminal record kid..

Nevertheless he seemed like a kind enough boy. He probably doesn’t need anymore ostracization. It’s a pain Lisa knew all too well. She will enjoy this birthday cake just as she would any other!

“This...? A...” He scrunches his face up in thought. “A blended drink with a fruity aroma... I see...” Yusuke takes a sip.

“...!” His eyes go wide at its deliciousness, and he takes a larger sip, only to cringe from the brainfreeze. “Gah-!”

   “I’ve been hearing about Kamoshida. What a sorry excuse of a fucking perverted teacher. If I had a say so, I would had his ass investigated by now. You can’t believe how much these adults get to run around scot-free while we get the slamdown on how we’re supposed to behave in this school. It’s not only hypocritical but pure bull.”

   A shake of his head accompanied by a sigh was his take of handling the stress. He just has to after all if he is to keep levelheaded and calm.

 “Anyways, I got a bit carried away back there. Ah, I don’t believe we had met so I guess an introduction is in order. I’m Simeon Evan and you must be?”

You’re always going to be alone. No one stays for very long. The only logical reason is that you’re not good enough for them.

There was no color in the house. The walls, the floor, the cabinets, the furniture, all of it was awash in shades of grey, black, and white. A gentle breeze drifted through the open sliding door, disturbing the paper cranes that hung from the ceiling. Their small, paper wings seemed to beat soundlessly; there was not even a rustling of paper.

You should have done more… been more. You have friends now, but they’re going to get tired of you, just like all the others. You can’t help anyone….

Yu sat on the floor by a small table with stacks of white paper. His hands moved unsteadily through the familiar folding and smoothing of the paper. When they were finished, he brought the delicate paper bird to his lips and blew a soft breath, expanding its round middle. Then, he cradled it in his hands and watched as each new bird rose on its own and flew to the ceiling where it hovered with the rest. Across from him sat his mirror image, save for the bright, golden color of his eyes. It was the only color in the room.

It would be better if you were gone…. No one would care… maybe no one would even notice… you’re nothing but a burden.
