Go green, Plant Trees
Why plant trees?
We are offering a gift to the environment and to our communities when we plant trees. Since many tree species can live for hundreds or even thousands of years, our "investment" in planting trees may last much longer than our own lifetimes. As the earth battles erosion that leads to landslides, tree roots keep the soil in place. Additionally, it collects and holds rainwater, which lessens runoff and post-storm sediment buildup. Additionally, it aids in replenishing groundwater supplies, avoids the discharge of pollutants into streams, and mitigates flooding.
We require oxygen to breathe, which trees emit. Trees lessen the quantity of storm water runoff, which lessens erosion, pollution, and possibly even the consequences of flooding in our waterways. The habitat of many wildlife species is provided by trees. Many birds and mammals find homes, food, and protection in trees.

Go green!
Someone posted this on an article about recycling in Singapore.
"I get tired of the obsession the NEA has with recycling. Sure it’s a good thing to do, but in the scheme of environmental problems, is recycling really that high a priority? If all their money and advertising is pushing recycling rates up by less than 10%, couldn’t that money be better spent on other aspects of environmental protection? Even if we recycled 100% in Singapore, how much would that really reduce the massive ecological and carbon footprint per citizen that Singapore has?"
And I say, "OI DONT BE STUPID GO AND THINK THEN COME BACK AND TALK TO ME." I get really frustrated when people say things like that. You sound like you have a point but ultimately, no I dont think you do. You're just being an pessimistic ass who is lazy to recycle.
Like i always said. If someone thinks, "Aiyah, whats the point of recycling. One person wont make a difference right, so its okay if i dont recycle." IF EVERYONE THINKS LIKE THAT THEN NOBODY WILL RECYCLE. I'm going to be a naggy bitch and remind you that one person's actions may not seem much but combined together a million of one persons, you get a HUGE consequence.
Back to what the person said about how we should spend more money on other aspects of environmental protection. Recycling is an essential part of environmental protection. It is the basis of environmental protection. If you are unable to do such a simple and basic thing, please dont even talk about other forms of environmental protection. You can argue with me about consumerism and how it generates demands for products that lead to factories, vehicles and what-nots producing tonnes of waste that pollute the environment and why are we not trying to solve that problem instead. Unless you are willing to give up your air-con, your car and all of your electronics and what-not and live like a primate, i suggest you just stick to recycling. I'm not saying it is impossible to lower energy consumption, i'm just saying its more difficult to achieve than recycling. From what i see, im quite sure the only way the government can reduce energy consumption is making things more expensive for you. You want that? YOU WANT THAT? If no, then why reject the fact that the government is now making things easier for you by providing you with recycling facilities that are accessible? I admit they are not the best and not the most convenient, but it would help if you put in some effort. So stop being such a whiny bitch and start recycling.
