3. Each day gets a little bit better.
Second time round and feels better. This article resonates so much. Definitely pinning to remember for the future.
37 weeks pregnant and so glad I can still fit this cute tee by @troopsonprint 😍 Even strangers have been telling me I look like I’m gonna pop anytime😅 . There’s been a HFMD breakout on the husband’s side of the family so unfortunately we won’t be able to meet over Chinese New Year this year 😖☹️😞 Super untimely for such a contagious virus to hit but we know it’s better to be safe at this point. Praying for speedy recovery for everyone and protection as we prepare for our newborn days ahead! The Doctor reminded me today to take it easy over this visiting period, “just nua”, she said... and rest when I can so we’re happy to keep that in mind too😎 . Made it to my mama’s for dinner instead tonight and it was a great feast! See my stories😘We had curry chicken, ngoh hiang, pig stomach soup, roast duck, sambal kang kong, some herbal chicken and the yusheng as an appetizer. Little #gohblin was very pleased🤰🏻👍🏼 What did you have for dinner tonight?? Best part of CNY is feasting with loved ones, eh? 🥰 (at Singapore) https://www.instagram.com/p/B7tLh5GneIt/?igshid=17d7f8cclnpq1
Monday morning and everyone’s feeling the blues. I had to do the send off on my own this morning and really managed to save my tears for after Beth went up the school bus. I keep replaying the scene of my little girl swimming in her uniform and oversized bag, climbing up onto the seat with the bus aunty’s help😭 I hope she heard me yell (as cheerfully as I could), “Bye Beth! See you later!” It’s probably the darn pregnancy hormones, it magnifies this very real sense of letting my daughter go. . Beth has been so brave starting school and looking at her makes me want to be braver too. It’s kinda silly cause I know we’re only apart for a few hours each day. I have less than a month to enjoy some quiet hours to myself in the morning. Needless to say, there are so many things I need/want to do while she is at school. For starters, I’ll be preparing for the arrival of our precious #Gohblin #2 and preparing myself for that “fourth trimester”. Before I can finish squeezing in a little exercise, or a quick catch up with a friend, or the daily chores, or preparing lunch and dinner, I’ll probably have to run down for pick up time again. I had several people tell me that having a daughter (女儿) followed by a son (儿子) forms the word ‘好’ which means good in Chinese! I thought it was so cute and I’m surprised that I’ve never heard this before in my life haha. I pray Bethel will be a good big sis to her little brother. May she love him, care for him and protect him❤️💙 Some days I still can’t believe we’re becoming a family of four in a matter of months🤭😥 . I’m also secretly relieved that the Goh line will carry on since my husband is the only son. Not that I have ever felt any external pressure to produce a son, so I was honestly surprised at my own such Asian thinking😂 . Since Beth is such a daddy’s girl, I hope #Gohblin #2 will be a mama’s boy. Any ideas to make that happen?😬 (at Sydney, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/B5AbESsnuzL/?igshid=mqzhslsrg17h
...and it’s a boy! 💙We didn’t take any gender reveal shots with Beth so these will make for some good memories🤓I’m pleasantly surprised that most of you actually voted that #Gohblin #2 is a boy - how did you know?? Haha. . I do feel like the bump is kinda different this time round, feels higher and more compact. And yet at 27 weeks now, some days I feel so large that I don’t know how the body can grow any bigger. My hips are starting to ache and dresses are more comfortable than wearing bottoms. Perhaps I really am bigger this second time round cause rolling out of bed or on and off the floor when playing with a toddler is getting increasingly difficult. There’s still quite a few weeks left to go. The weeks have been flying by, I don’t feel anywhere near ready for this baby to come😰 . Many people like to ask if we were hoping for a boy or a girl. Having a girl next would be more convenient cause we already have the girly clothes and toys BUT, we are very much looking forward to having a boy👶🏻🥰I teared up a little when we saw the resemblance of a little penis and the Dr told us she was 90% sure it was a boy :’) And then we saw him again at the week 20 check and the sonographer confirmed we were having a little boy! My mama @kimlian60 said “it’ll be a nice change”, since I grew up with sisters and only have a daughter now. I wonder if raising a boy would be any different. What do you think? Should be fun😘 https://www.instagram.com/p/B42C1rGnY8r/?igshid=113iyopkkgana
Recently Beth decided that she will not call us ‘mama’ and ‘dada’ anymore - instead she addresses us as ‘’mummy’ and ‘daddy. Seemed like something she decided overnight but I have a feeling it was influenced from the Peppa Pig cartoons we let her watch on our flights recently 😂 While it still sounds very cute, I’m having a little trouble letting go of ‘mama’ and ‘dada’. I love those affectionate terms and it’s really showing us that her baby and toddler days are fleeting. Some days it feels like she’s growing up so quickly, and yet some days when she feels threatened by #Gohblin #2, she just acts all baby-ish again. In the blink of an eye, would she become a tween and decide to only call me mom? Oh, my heart💜😭 . Also, I still can’t believe we ventured so far during the pregnancy. Second trimester has truly been such a dream, crazy different from the first trimester. So thankful for God’s perfect timing! If you’re planning to travel far during your pregnancy too, remember to get compression socks and walk around as much as you need on the plane - those were super helpful for me. . A final fun fact: we were pregnant with Beth when we were in the US three years ago too. What were the odds of bringing another #Gohblin to America again eh?🤓 https://www.instagram.com/p/B4L3R4Nn_dz/?igshid=w1iglfdpn6wc
One of the highlights of New York was catching Frozen on Broadway! We had to brave crazy rain and got all wet to get to this show! Even our rain boots were not enough for some almost-knee-high puddles and windy rain that came from every direction except from the top. Really felt my spirits lifted once the music started playing; even little #gohblin was especially active during the entire show. I enjoyed how the musical had different elements from the movie while still staying true to the story. I loved the new songs that were sung and found them playing in my head even in my dreams for a few nights that followed🤭😂 Laughed out loud as well as teared up at certain points of the musical. Must be the pregnancy hormones😅 After the show there was a queue at the restroom but a sweet girl who saw I was pregnant asked the long line of ladies to let me go first and everyone was so kind to let me skip right to the front. Was seriously so touched (and embarrassed), but took the chance anyway cause I really needed it haha. The evening out wouldn’t have been possible without mentioning that this musical was actually the husband’s idea; he stayed in with Beth to give her dinner and settle her to sleep. Best husband award, I know. Couldn’t imagine better company to have caught this with @kimlian60 and @gabrielleosw - we missed you @gnoadanama 💕 (at St. James Theatre) https://www.instagram.com/p/B4Dtp8LnXOh/?igshid=14e0lwumqnugf
