im not a fan of exposure therapy outside a clinical professional setting but i gotta be completely honest here: snakes have always freaked me out, like i knew they were more afraid of me than i was of them but there was this instilled fear in me that activated the second i saw them, they made my skin crawl. Then I randomly started watching Snake Discovery's snake hatching videos and my entire view of snakes flipped. There is something very powerful about hearing someone talk about and show you something they are passionate about in addition to education that can pretty much erase a deeply instilled learned anxiety. Now ive been binge watching her videos and GoHerping (I love his dead pan meme humor) and I have actually legitimately considered getting a snake (though i know i wouldnt be able to handle the rodent feeding part that would take a miracle so i gotta be realistic).
So, if you are freaked out by snakes I would definitely recommend watching Snake Discovery's egg hatching videos and slowly working your way to the videos with bigger snakes(Hognose Snakes really unlock a part of the brain that made me be like "oh my god they are little cute noodles). Also GoHerping's unboxing videos really do... something idk but they are funny as hell.
