Had a great time yesterday for our fall hike. Beautiful sky and cascading shadows, poison oak and great company. That's what the outdoors are about, awareness of the beautiful and the deadly and respect for everything in between. Awesome lake, need to come back to canoe and fish and check out the longer trail. Another great park ranger today, very nice and energetic, friendly and made sure to take time and get pictures of us on our phones and her phone. Ellie's Birthday Week continued @ #hawriverstatepark for another guided #gohikenc hike where we saw the Haw River which is a tributary of the #capefearriver which goes all the way out to Wilmington. We also saw beaver work done to a tree about to come down, done wild berries which we were able to identify in our book as Rowan or Mountain-Ash (no, we didn't eat anything) and lots of cool material growth.
