asks about the Palm Springs AU under the cut because I don’t want to spoil the movie for others:
(I’ve been staring at your icon for so long, he’s so pretty I want to cry)
I haven’t written a lot for it so I don’t have all the details yet, but I like to imagine that Anakin feels betrayed at first because Obi-Wan lied to him, probably until Obi-Wan tells him about turning to the dark side and everything that happened the first time when Obi-Wan was away on Utapau, and once he’s done freaking out about it, he’s probably going to be like “and you still wanted to fuck me after witnessing that? ....that’s messed up but also really turning me on right now”
And I’m thinking about the tipping point being Obi-Wan taking him to Utapau. Be it right from the start, during the council meeting, telling the other masters that he’ll only go with Anakin, or when they’re supposed to say goodbye but Obi-Wan suddenly asks him to come with him, nevermind their orders. Basically, Obi-Wan only has to show Anakin that he cares more about him than the Council and the repercussions and Anakin is immediately on board. I’m sure Obi-Wan had a lot of fun with that 😏 I’m not saying there’s a loop where he showed up late and drunk and kissed Anakin right in front of the council but. yes, he definitely did that.
did you have to make it even more painful? wtf but also, yes, he definitely killed Anakin right from the start in some of those early loops when he still believed he could get out of it, but it just hurt him more and made him realise he couldn’t bear the loneliness for long before killing himself. He also doesn’t like to admit that these loops are actually more painful to live through than the ones where he watches Anakin kneels in front of Sidious, and that’s why at one point, if he’s not distracting/seducing Anakin away from the dark side, he just lets things happen and pretends he can’t see/feel it.
After trying to find a solution to his problem and failing miserably, Obi-Wan is absolutely going to enjoy some fun time in every place in the Galaxy he can reach before falling asleep and rebooting the day.
The first time with Anakin happens during the 100th or something loop because why the hell not at this point, he knows Anakin never really grew out of his crush on him, might as well see how far he’s willing to take this. But once he does it again during the next loop and the next 50 loops after that? Once he knows that he can end his day with Anakin asleep next to him, safe and sweet and warm, so far away from golden eyes and murderous intentions? Well, there’s no going back from there.
It is, of course, the best and worst thing he’s ever done so far.
