Brand Spotlight: intlclothingco
It’s rare to see a self-started brand that can use its inspiration effectively without making “parody clothing” or straight up ripping someone off, but this brand is an exception. By mixing vaporwave and antisocialsocialclub style with original takes on trends such as “dad hats”, intlclothingco is a refreshing break from the usual things one might find of a new brand. Another rookie mistake this brand successfully avoids is cost hubris. Some brands want to be exclusive and costly right off the bat, but unless your pieces are high quality cut and sewn, it’s just unnecessary. In the case of intlclothingco, the pieces are priced reasonably for their quality and reputation. My only semi-problem with this brand is the Pablo-style shirt (not pictured), that was original enough in concept, but maybe should have been put in a new color scheme that the original Pablo shirt didn’t have. With only 10 sales on Etsy, the brand is small to say the least, but hopefully as time goes on the brand will blossom into an underground success, if not a mainstream hit.
