Update on my life: I went to Dublin for the weekend but didn’t really feel myself - to boot we were going to print and I asked for one day holiday which my Manager tried to get me not to take so now when I got back from Dublin I’ve lost my voice, I feel like shit and I clearly have tonsillitis. Two months ago my manager along with the accounts manager brought up the fact I’ve been sick a lot this year so I’m pretty certain he’s just waiting for a reason to fire me due to standing up for my working rights more and saying ‘no’ to a lot of things and being sick with a shitty immune system a lot since February.
Thing is, I do three people’s jobs, had to teach myself how to do everything, am constantly thrown into the deep end, get paid minimum wage, have barely any paid holidays, am expected to work unpaid over time, get treated like I don’t do enough, have no work ‘perks’ and I’ve only graduated from university a year so if I do get fired then surely I’m better off - but at the same time, I’d rather walk out myself, especially when it relates to something I have no control over, like my shitty immune system.
My job has the shittiest working conditions but it’s a highly esteemed job so I don’t want to downgrade, but I also don’t know how much longer I can take being consistently treated like shit when I do so much for so little in return.
