Name: Greenie
Debut: Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Todatrick's day is St. Patrick's Day! This is a day to celebrate "green", which we know because around this time every year, green bagels begin to appear. So, to get into the green spirit, here is a green spirit!
Greenie... I don't think people care about Greenie very much. I've seen much more vitriol than appreciation for Greenie! When Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon was revealed, a whole lot of people were not at all happy about the new ghosts. They weren't the old ghosts! Those old ghosts were iconic, and people didn't feel the new ones captured the same vibe. Let's see...
Yeah, it just ain't the same. I'm sorry, Greenie. You're more generic. Not a BAD ghost! But the original LM ghosts are so distinct. A legally-distinct Greenie could easily appear on a Halloween display at a Walgreens. Regardless, I say, let's give Greenie a chance! See what it has to offer.
Oh my goodness. Just like that, the Greenie deniers are silenced. Greenie can wear cool shades, and is unafraid to do so indoors! This is genuinely an awesome thing, because it shows off a strength of Greenie: its resourcefulness! Greenie is a very Comic Mischief ghost. Like, look.
See? Comic mischief! Arguably not appropriate for children under 10! They might think it's okay to hold a rolling pin. I like Greenies doing this! It's cheeky and charming. But I guess it begs the question... is this what a ghost ought to do? This is Shy Guy behavior. Ghosts have all sorts of paranormal powers to pull from. Luigi's Mansion shouldn't be SCARY, but is fighting with kitchen utensils a bit TOO silly?
Perhaps there's a bit of a lore reason to this, though! Greenies and the other ghosts of Evershade Valley are nice by default, and many of them help E. Gadd in his lab. They're used to working with various tools and objects, so I think it makes sense for them to use props when fighting, too! Speaking of lore, Greenies (or at least a coffee themed after them) are the reason Gooigi is green. Gooigi is splendid. Think of him and smile!
So, are these the questions to actually be asking? No, they are not. Here's the real question: does Greenie have the capacity to feel shame when in the nude?
Yes, it does! Don't look at it. Don't perceive its greenis.
