The question was a bit late this week so I could say: Happy pride month!! You've probably been asked which was the first lgtb person / couple you saw on tv before, but which was the last?

Not TV but I wanna talk about this so I'm gonna, I've been replaying vivid/stasis and it's so good!!!

Great gameplay, great story, great characters, (not so great dialogue but it's not horrible), and actually good representation!! The main couple is trans x ace yuri and it actually has depth and emotional stakes, I love the characters and their whole narrative arc throughout the game. Also,

We're right in the middle of January now. In my experience, this is the point where all the fun holidays from the beginning of the year are a distant memory and the ones in February feel impossibly out of reach, the moment where I need a new obsession to carry me through the month more than anything. i've been researching a bit bc i've started getting a lot of videos about traveling to kyrgystan on instagram and honestly i'm trying to convince someone to come with bc it's a bit too adventurous for me to go there alone methinks.... BUT it genuinely looks so cool

also i had my first chance to say something in russian to a russian speaker on monday and i consulted with my teacher afterwards and she said i said it correctly so i've been living off that high all week as well

so, i studied translation, and one of the things that they really hammered home is that language shapes the way you think and perceive the world. Not only in a philosophical way, but in a very phisical way.

We know about the dark wine sea of the old greeks, but there are may cases. For example, europe in general didnt have a word for orange color until the introduction of the fruit in the iberian penindula by the arabs. So things considered orange now would be described as a pale red or a deep yellow instead.

Or medieval japanese, which only had four basic colors (white, black, red and blue), which basically worked as a quadrant between light/dark and warm/cold. They didn't start to develop more specific color words until contact with europeans. And even today, they still use the word for blue for things like traffic lights, and things that arent exactly vibrant plant green

For years, I've been having the same recurring dream: I walk into my apartment complex normally but somehow mess up and end up going into the wrong elevator, an elevator that isn't there in real life. I only realize my mistake when the doors have closed, and by then it is too late to do anything. I just have to wait and go wherever the elevator wants to take me. Sometimes I end up in a mirrored version of what would be my floor. Sometimes I meet people. Sometimes I'm just stuck there, watching the floors go up and up and up. Do you dream often? What did you dream of today?

Creo que sueño más o menos con la misma frecuencia que todo el mundo, aunque he descubierto que es más fácil recordar sueños si pruebas a recordarlos justo cuando te despiertas o si intentas escribirlos.

Hoy he tenido un sueño del que no me acuerdo muy bien, pero recuerdo que trabajaba como en un supermercado cerca del mar. Pero quiero hablarte de un tipo de sueños que suelo tener y que me ha recordado al que has contado tú.

Cuando sueño con el piso en el que vivo, el portal no suele parecerse mucho al de verdad pero siempre es el mismo. Suele tener el ascensor al fondo en el medio con una escalera a cada lado. Si vas por las escaleras, te acabarás dando cuenta de que no llevan a todos los pisos del edificio. Las de la izquierda dan a unos, los de la derecha a otros, y no recuerdo cuál de ellas da a una especie de semi-sótano en el que no hay nada. Si coges el ascensor, sí que llegas a todos los pisos. Este no solo se mueve de arriba a abajo, sino también de derecha a izquierda, lo que viene bien porque en mis sueños mi piso suele ser más grande. En esos sueños también suele haber mucha gente andando por el edificio, o cerca en la calle o incluso dentro de mi casa. Suele dar la sensación de que hay algún tipo de festividad y todo el mundo ha decidido festejarla aquí
