hi fishblr its been a while. poncho passed away. im still heartbroken. here’s pingu, an adorable lil tricolor. also i need help

i screwed up instructions while i was on vacation so these guys ended up being seriously over fed. its been more than a month and the cycle still wont hold. nitrates are up though so idk why ammonia/nitrite wont go down.

ive put a lot of tetra safestart+ in as a last ditch effort and read online that you should leave the tank alone a couple weeks, no prime, while it cycles w tss+. i hate not detoxifying the ammonia and nitrite while its cycling, and not doing wc.

please give me some advice, im really at my wits end w this tank.

His right gill plate used to be completely red when I first got him so he’s been slowly losing his red for a bit now.

Goldfish help??

So, at the pet store where I work we have a large oranda goldfish who's been in the sick tank for quite a while because he's got a couple weird lumps on the back of his head (behind the, you know, normal oranda head lump). His behavior seems totally normal, but the strange lumps won't go away even though we've treated for ick, fungus, etc. Recently the lumps have started looking more open and raw, and were being nipped at by another goldfish (which was promptly removed, btw). Also, a couple of small black specks appeared on his forehead. No one here can figure out what's going on and I can't seem to find anything similar online. Any ideas?

(ignore the leftover food lol) this setup has helped my plants survive in my goldfish tank. if ur plants are always being uprooted i would highly suggest this. the roots of my plants are established in the gravel, and the gem stones prevent the goldfish from scattering gravel everywhere and uprooting/eating the plants. ponch gave me a big scare a couple months ago bc he swallowed a piece of gravel. i managed to hold him and pull put the stone w very small tweezers and he was completely fine after, but it still stressed me out. this is a great solution!

Anyone have any tips on improving goldfish colours?

My red and white ryukin Damon is starting to lose his red colouring and I’d like to know if there’s a way I can prevent this.

I’m feeding him home made gel food and sinking pellets of alright quality. (It’s the best food available I can get). Plus the odd frozen brine shrimp/bloodworms occasionally.

Are there any other methods for improving goldfish colours other than food?

Can anyone, preferably in the UK, recommend a fish tank for two, normal, goldfish, please? I know the one they are currently in is too small, and I want to upgrade.

can i ask a dumb question? for automatic aquarium water changers where u like hook it up to your sink and it just fills it up, at what point do you dechlorinate? im looking into getting one because i have a big 60gallon now and hauling 3 gallon buckets is not ideal.

Mr. Mustache, my goldfish, is dying. He hasn’t been well the past couple of weeks and I have done everything I can do try to help him get better. No such luck. Now he’s suffering, he’s on the gravel on his back trying to survive. I don’t want him to suffer any more. How do I help him?
