Orgullo SKAM - 3rd of July, 2019
Audience member: That is, I'm very active on social media and I really noticed the backlash from the pansexuality issue. How did you deal with that, I mean, did you think there'd be such a backlash or...?
Georgia Elliot (Skam España social media manager): I think we need to make it clear that we do everything— I mean, I think the clear message of Skam is respect and tolerance. And anything that could've been said, at no point was meant to hurt anyone's feelings at a personal level. I think it's a cultural issue, a semantics issue, and— and that's it, right? What we want is for tolerance and respect to prevail over everything and that's the most important thing.
Rafa Taboada (Skam España producer): Totally.

Irene Ferreiro: At no point I meant to offend anyone nor do I want to look down on anything. I've given my opinion about what I think and what my ideas are, [but I never tried to offend anyone, and if anyone felt offended for the things I could've said, then I'm sorry]. My most sincere apologies. The important thing is for people in the [LGBT] community to support each other [and to be there for each other]. We're doing something so big, why sling shit at each other?
(Note: the article comes with a video, and I filled the spaces with Irene’s full quote from the video.)

Interviewer: There was a debate on social media regarding Cris, and whether she was actually bisexual or pansexual, and Irene Ferreiro wanted to give her opinion. Do you want to give yours?
Alejandro Reina: At no point we meant to offend over how anyone identifies when it comes to their sexuality. We've simply grown up with another view about the way the [LGBT] community regards themselves.
