This is historic ‘Shahi Pul’ (’Pul’ is Hindi translation of ‘Bridge’) on the ‘Gomti’ river.It was built in 1564 AD and It is situated in the city of Jaunpur, which is in the biggest state of India, Uttar Pradesh. Every sewer canal of city empties into this river. Water has become excessively polluted. Not only it is harming every living being around it but also eroding time tested monuments like this bridge. Even after regular coverage of this problem by local newspapers, there seems no solution in the near future.
