Lexa blushed deeply, for once grateful for her darker skin tone -- it hid the worst of it, though she was almost sure that her mentor would be able to catch her embarrassment from her expression alone. Her throat cleared, the thirteen- year-old fiddling idly with her hands.
“Nevermind ----- I-I just meant that there was a question I wanted to ask you, but I didn’t want to bother you.”

It isn’t all-together unexpected, when Anya storms into her tent, her expression carefully stoic but her eyes burning with emotion Lexa cannot decipher -- after all, she did just send another of her generals to replace her mentor at her post.
Lexa breaths out a silent sigh, dismissing Gustus and the rest of her guards with an airy wave of hand -- even in anger, Anya wouldn’t harm her, she is sure of it. Her stare locks with that of her former mentor, her tone c a r e f u l l y neutral, unsure of the direction this encounter will go -- the elder woman is, after all, as UNPREDICTABLE as she is.
