okay all this talk on the characters and yeah, they’re certainly wonderful topics of discussion, but can we stop and talk about the actual film-y-ness of the film (sorry that’s not jargon the word escapes me right now)

It’s a black and white bird setting up the black and white world the characters find themselves in. They’ve got a reputation as thieves, and they’re said to love all that glitters- who does that remind you of???
