there's a few different types of OC ships i have, actually!

firstly, there's Phaze Rider [skeleton/dragon monster hybrid] and Faera Vantris [pure skeleton monster with altered magical DNA] (and maybe Lamp the lizard monster? debating on whether that should just be a Funny Crackship or become canonized eventually). because they're an iconic skeletal power couple who match each other's freak VERY well, especially because of their shared backstory

then there's Faded Sandren [skeleton monster with ecto hair and prosthetic arms], Basilisk "Basil" Floyd [skeleton/snake-slash-lamia monster hybrid with half-metal face], and Winslowe Hollis (formerly named Danny) [skeleton monster]. their triad is very cozy and supportive, and they're all dating each other.

then there's Sarin Rivero (NOT CARUSO, WHOOPS) [skeleton/cow monster hybrid] and Sebastian Darby [skeleton monster with ecto hair], who are 1) Electrodendra's friends and 2) dating. they're not super serious about dating yet, but they have a lot of fun together... mostly through gaming and exploring town, lol. typical "young people hanging out who like each other in a crush-type of way" stuff

and there's also Sarin's moms, Ibis Rivero [flame/fire elemental monster], and Ellery Rivero [skeleton/cow monster hybrid]. they're an "anxious parent (ibis) and relatively calm parent (ellery)" duo... with 5 children. 2 of those children being grown-up (minnow and sarin), but still... they like each other a LOT.

also Nessa Underwood [sea monster] and Minnow Caruso [skeleton monster]. Nessa's [Zil'ec's cousin] more of an outdoorsy gal, while Minnow's [Sarin's older cousin] more of a stay-inside-and-read type of person. they're kind of an "opposites attract" type of pairing, and this couple tends to pull each other slightly out of their individual comfort zones.

oh! and also Nexus (Zil'ec's former datemate/partner)'s parents, Harper Draven [light elemental monster] and Digby Draven [slime monster]. they're... like a pretty benevolent rich couple, but they're not super in touch with the residents of Havenville or Kellaris.

also, if people who are currently dead count: Electrodendra's mother Jolt Alkali [alien skeleton monster] and Static Voltage [alien axolotl-like-monster]. they were a typical pairing of a somewhat strict parent (jolt) and a somewhat relaxed parent (static), and they worked well together while they were alive.

also, if villains count: the triad of Dr. Shelly Alcor [beetle-like monster], Dr. Mason Cornelius [light elemental monster], and Dr. Jack Edwin [sea monster]. they were evil AND in love, but like... in that corrupted villain/mad-scientist kinda way, y'know?

Ann is very eager to see whatever footage the cameras managed to capture. When Phaze asks her if anyone tried to chat her up, she doesn't have a set answer

Ann: Quite a few people approached me here today. but only a couple of them tried to hit on me.

Ann points them out in the crowd before setting off to track down security to smooth talk them into letting her see the cameras lol

phaze: thank you. your answers have been very helpful.

*phaze nods at faera, who sets off with ann to go to security.*

*ann goes to ask the security guards about the footage, but they seem... unimpressed by her smooth words. after a few minutes, faera steps in with a very short and not-very-detailed explanation. only THEN do the guards let them in and look at the footage.*

*the footage shows a human man drugging ann's drink, slipping in a powder that unnaturally dissolves the very second it hits the liquid.*

faera (mumbling to himself): that bastard...!!

*the guards then start looking at what's happening now- a tall skeleton monster man dressed very casually confronting a much smaller human man, breaking up a group of four...*

*meanwhile, phaze walks up to a small group of socialites, looking very entertained by a human man's grandiose story, given how he's gesticulating... and stands right behind him, placing him in shadow.*

phaze: Pardon me, sirs, madams, and other gracious company. I have a few questions, if you don't mind.

*they all look various degrees of confused, concerned, and annoyed. the group of four agrees, though, and the man that phaze towers over looks the most annoyed out of all of them- can't he see that he was in the middle of something??*

phaze: Would any of you happen to know about whom at this event failed to court a lovely lady, and, upon their failure, attempted to drug her into compliance?

*while the others start whispering amongst themselves in a concerned way, the human man says absolutely nothing. however, he starts sweating profusely, and his hands shake, and they do not steady when he straightens out his shirt collar.*

*phaze, at his full height, is damn near 7 feet tall, with a wingspan at least twice as large. he also happens to be a full-fanged skeleton, and part dragon. he is quite intimidating when he wants to be.*

*and right now, he has the toothy grin of a cat who's caught a mouse.*

*the man suddenly tries to bolt in a random direction, not even making it ten feet away before being magically lifted up above the crowd, away from any furniture or potential objects that could help him escape. he's in a translucent green bubble of solid magic- he almost immediately gives up trying to escape.*

*the crowd bursts into noise and speculation, and phaze finds a cordless microphone that faera used earlier for announcing the start of the art gallery event. one of his hands glows green, maintaining the human culprit's air jail, and the other holds the mic.*

phaze: Excuse me, everyone. It seems that there is a drink-drugging criminal in our midst- a very practiced one, at that! But, unfortunately, he's no longer welcome at the party, nor the gallery. Despite the fact that the danger has passed, I'd still advise everyone to drink responsibly, and if there's any further issues...

*his grin gets maniacally wide, his face scrunching in almost evil glee.*

phaze: I'd be DELIGHTED to handle it.

*the man temporarily trapped in the magical bubble makes various faces of anger, fear, fury, nervousness, and embarrassment... which turns to despair when the cops show up almost an hour later, and he tries to speak, but no sound gets through.*

Indy gets a text from ann saying she's gonna body slam him next time she sees him

Whether he looks at the text rn or not is up to him and his penis

ann gets a "read", but indigo only actually responds hours later- a bit unusual for him. he says:

indy: HI ANN!! APOLOGIES THAT I COULDN'T RESPOND TO YOUR TEXT RIGHT AWAY, I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A VERY IMPORTANT WORKOUT. CAN'T SKIP LEG DAY, HAHA!

indy: I'LL BE PREPARED FOR THE FRIENDLY BODY-SLAM! AND I'LL WIN!!! 💪💪

Ann has the drunk zapped out of her. Damn, she feels like she just got electrocuted but in a good way. Wait that doesn't make sense. She looks around, processing

Ann: What- did Zeus just lightning bolt my ass

faera: OH THANK GOODNESS YOU'RE OKAY!!!! I was worried!! Miss...! Whoever you are!! You fell on me and passed out!!

phaze: I was asked to see if I could heal you, and I did. You were... most likely drugged by someone here.

faera: That is outrageously awful behavior!!! But... I guess not everyone has good intentions at a nice public event...

*ann sees faera's expression go from concerned, to angry, and then back to concerned as he looks over ann.*

faera: Hi, you must be wondering who we are. I'm Faera- I made that statue over there, and those ones there, and those works of pottery in the main room. You fell into my arms and slurred something about my muscles before falling unconscious.

*faera points at phaze*

Faera: This is my life-partner, Phaze. He... doesn't work here, but he DOES have amazing healing magic.

Phaze: As of tonight, I'll be working temporary security. Whoever drugged you is a hazard to everyone, so try and keep an eye out for anyone who might've- or might continue to try to- put substances in your drink. Especially anyone charismatic or charming.

*he stirs the air with a pinky finger, miming putting it in a glass*

Phaze: I've heard that stirring your glass is a pretty good way to tell if your drink has been tampered with. Even if you can't trust your sense of taste or smell, powders and liquids usually don't dissolve or completely mix right away- there tends to be residue.

Ann either ignores him or doesn't hear his question. Instead, she feels his bicep appreciatively. Look at this guy. He could yeet her far and wide. Love that for him.

Where is she again? She looks around in a daze. Last she checked, she was out drinking with some friends, then she started feeling dizzy, and now...

Well, right before she passes out, she tells Faera he's got great pecs

*faera yelps in alarm as ann passes out, then observes her further... obviously she's not sober, given the state she's in. so he takes her to a quiet side room- he was holding an art exhibition, and naturally people love nearly-free drinks... and invite their friends... and so he calls phaze.*

*faera was not blessed with the ability (nor skills) for healing, but phaze was. he locates faera easily, taking an unconscious ann's hand and...*

*with a bright green ZZZAP!, ann jolts awake, most likely feeling like she'd been shocked by static, but otherwise alright- definitely much more sober and alert. in preparation, faera loosened his grip on her, and phaze stepped back (as to try not to crowd ann).*

Ann's like "We wont get wasted, Indy babe! Come on, it'll be fun! They'll all think you're so cool after you show them your skills!"

Gotta push sorry bestie lol

indy will firmly say no if it's a work day/night- sorry ann, but responsibility comes first. it's one thing to hang with friends and have fun, but it's different if it interfere with work.

he understands that ann means no harm, but indigo knows his limits and boundaries quite well, and will shut ann down if she tries again. they're still friends- of course!- but indy doesn't cave to peer pressure unless it matches up with something he already wants to do.

She's intrigued by this bean's attempt to be sneaky, and now she must know everything.

Ann: Next time, why don't you bring me along? We'd have fun together.

Oh my, she has no idea what she just implied. Which makes it funnier.

indy: UMMM... WELL...

(you can practically feel him sweating through the phone. indigo hates lying, so this must be something he REALLY doesn't want to tell you about.)

indy: IT'S, UM! N-NOT THE TYPE OF WORKOUT THAT FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO!! SORRY ANN, MAYBE A DIFFERENT TIME!
