As he began to walk back to his resting area, a million thoughts began racing through Grud's mind, wondering what the hell he had done. Did Liniadel really get upset at losing? She never seemed like the type to get mad at something like that. Normally she'd have been chomping at the bit to end the little sparring match they had just had with a third round, but not this time. She was genuinely upset and it had caught him by surprise.
As he finally got to his bed and laid down, he couldn't even attempt get some rest. His mind was plagued by his thoughts far too much at this point. He had been drinking all night for the first time in a long time. Was he so drunk that he couldn't even see the answers to his question? "This is why I don't drink this shit!" he growled to himself. "Was it the way I acted after I won? Was I that much of an asshole? Was I that drunk? What the hell did I do?!?!"
After tossing and turning for a while, Grud finally thought to himself "Maybe it wasn't something I did. Maybe it was all her in the first place." His mind ran with that scenario, looking for a way get the whole thing behind him. He waved his hand, as if he wanted to brush the whole thing aside. "I'll just talk to her tomorrow. No use in losing all this sleep over it" With a final sigh and a grunt, he finally closed his eyes and got some much needed rest.
