SPOILERS FOR THE JOKER 2021 ISSUE #14!!!!!!
So I was reading the latest issue of The Joker and I got to the part where Bane finally gets to meet Vengeance (sorry for the bad photos)
And as you can see, they fight, or rather Vengeance tries to fight Bane and Bane wins. But he isn't really trying to hurt her, he's bringing her down to try and calm her. At one point he even tells her "First you will calm yourself enough to listen" and she's basically says "I don't want to!" And throws a tantrum, one that only Bane can calm down. But throughout this though he keeps calling her "Daughter" and never once calls her anything else. He's trying to calm her down in a way that only he and her will understand. Vengeance is technically a child, she's not very old and Bane knows this because he says that she has a child's understanding of strength and that it makes her week, he want's her to show that she is stronger then what the doctors programmed her to be and when she's down he says "Think Daughter, free your mind". Vengeance is LITERALLY a clone of Bane she thinks, talks and (tries) to act like him. Bane knows this and knows that like him, she didn't get a life or a childhood (granted she grew up in like a week) It is Canon that Bane has a soft spit for children and I think he sees her as one, he knows she can handle getting tossed around but he's not actually trying to harm her. (At least not yet) I really hope that in later issue Bane can help her and she can turn out like him, because she, like Bane, broke free of the ones who tried to control her, she just isn't free all the way yet. I really hope that the writers make it to where they have a father/daughter relationship, or at the very least become close. She doesn't have to call him dad (would love that though) but I don't think Bane will stop calling her Daughter anytime soon, he took in Scandal as an adopted daughter and he cared for her so I really hope he forms a bond with Vengeance like that because, as I said, he spoke to her trying to calm her down and kept calling her daughter, I think that shows that Bane wants her to take his advice and help and be a child of his, not just because she is by blood, but because she wants to.
I love Bane and I'm really loving Vengeance, the writers make her sound and act like Bane, but still giving her her own will and voice, she isn't a copy-paste with boobs and I like this.
