I'm watching a clip video of Julia Sugarbaker's best rants from Designing Women and let me tell you - this show had a huge impact on me as a kid. I was immediately enraptured by her eloquent rants. Dixie Carter delivered the most amazing monologues in that role. Julia destroyed people in a way I had never seen. When her patience was pushed too far or someone wronged one of her loved ones, look out! Someone will be fleeing the premises soon and it won't be Julia.
It was a thing of beauty.
Between Julia Sugarbaker from Designing Women and Dorothy Zbornak from Golden Girls, I developed a love of the use of words as more than just vessels of communication. They can be weapons and used just as effectively as any sword.
Just a Reminder
Black girls are pretty Black boys are pretty Black Non-Binary people are pretty White girls are pretty White boys are pretty White Non-Binary people are pretty Asian girls are pretty Asian boys are pretty Asian Non-Binary people are pretty Latina girls are pretty Latina boys are pretty Latina Non-Binary people are pretty Indian girls are pretty Indian boys are pretty Indian Non-Binary people are pretty Native American girls are pretty Native American boys are pretty Native American Non-Binary people are pretty Girls are pretty Boys are pretty Non-Binary people are pretty, period. No matter your race, gender, weight, or anything else, you. are. pretty. If you’re unhealthy, fix it in a healthy way, but no matter what, you’re pretty. Mental or physically illness doesn’t make you ugly. Skin doesn’t make you ugly. People that say it does, are ugly. Fix your problems, don’t weigh yourself down with them. Be healthy, live your life. You only have one. Now go frolic in that field, go watch that movie you love again. Wear what makes you confident. And remember, you are a beautiful human that deserves every last bit of oxygen you breath. Remember, at least one person cares about you. Kallin does. Kallin cares. Kallin will always care. Kallin wants you breathing and living a healthy life style. Kallin loves you and Kallin wishes you a good day.
The Killingsworth Awl Era has begun and it is good.
While I was in the library bathroom, someone went into the handicapped stall next to me. What I didn’t hear was their service dog, so I was very surprised when suddenly a big fluffy retriever-esque tail and paws appeared at the stall divider.
I like when good silly things like that happen.
After a nap from that sleepless wait and being there for sis in the hospital since 4am, we got discharged at 10am. Doc said she was healthy but it was her acid reflux spiked up. So she was given meds and some guidelines on what I’m going to give her during mealtime (no fried, fatty food, chocolate, citrus fruits but good thing it wasn’t rice or else...). Didn’t left her side even if she said so, because gdi I’m tearing up there just seeing her in pain.
Mom (who was in Alaska) got worried after I messaged her and cried (which was the worst IMO, hate to see parents cry) after she didn’t knew what happened to sis. Same goes to relatives in the Philippines.
...weird I spent my last hours there making waffles in the cafeteria’s waffle maker to grab some take out for later. 5 stacks YOLO. /u/
