okay so there's this thing going around which is like 'stop putting so much emphasis on being intellectual' and okay yes i appreciate the sentiment but let's pause for a second here

yes appreciate everybody whether or not they're smart/intellectual/whatever

it's totally fine if you don't get good test scores or don't like school or whatever it is we're apparently looking down on here

but let's address this part

because that was a beautiful piece of writing

it was gorgeous and i loved it

and you know what

fuck you for telling me i can't feel warm inside about something that took every quirk and insecurity that people scorn me and laugh at me and talk down to me about and turned it into a good thing

fuck you for telling me i can't use something like that to feel good about myself for once in my life

it's all well and good to tell people to not look down on others for not being intellectual or whatever the hell your point is

but then it's totally not okay to turn around and degrade other people for being intellectual or liking people who read or whatever
