sometimes the wind makes the house shake beating through the flashing rattling the windows the once brave dog scurries to his bed just at our feet I say "it's a wonder the roof hasn't blown off" he shrugs pulls the blankets in closer to our bodies and I rest my head on his chest this is good enough
