sounds like something someone else would say about Fabian, but it's actually from Fabian to Anne Marie.

I mean, think about it

Fabian states/strongly implies in canon he knew he was a mutant since childhood

His mutation is entirely dependent on having another mutant around

His sister was a fellow mutant, so that means he must have only known he was because hers was active as a child too

Her power is mind control

And children have no sense of consequence and ethics when it comes to anything else...why would Anne Marie when it came to her own incredible powers?

So the funny thing is, that um, I'm thinking it was 1997. And that, my children, showed up here in Florida, um, with a little drum kit, and it's the first time we played together. A couple hours from here or so, and we haven't stopped playing together. And that boy over there, the magnificent mister John, and they've waited and they haven't stopped. And these guys, they're gonna play this one with me in a week or so. But tonight, I just needed to play it, and I haven't played it in a few years so be good. But anyway, they've come across the country and just to get to the water, even close.
