Day 21:
Today we dropped off the winnebago early in the morning and set out to Seattle for our last adventure in the US. Seattle is a lovely city but only in certain parts. In the downtown area, near the train station we go to to get to Canada, there is an alarming amount of homeless people and it has an overall uncomfortable feeling. However when you walk 20 minutes up the road you get to Pike Place Market and that's where you begin to love Seattle. I cannot rave enough about Pike Place Market, the vibe of the market is great, there is fantastic stuff and they have amazing flower bouquets that only cost between $10- $15 USD that would Cost at least $60 AUD. I wanted to buy some so badly but I had no where to put them and customs getting into Canada may not be happy about it... We also found a busker with a parrot that did tricks and he got me to hold the parrot and help him with some of the tricks which was good fun. We had late breakfast/early lunch at a restaurant just near the market. The place was really nice and the food was great! Next stop was the Space Needle but we couldn't go up because the next alloted time wasn't until the time when we had to be on our train. Instead Thomas and I went into the Garden and Glass exhibit which was absolutely stunning. I will never get over the amazing things that people can create with blown glass. We also ended up stumbling upon 2 different festivals. The music and food truck festival near the space needle and the Dragon Fest in China town. We ended up having a late lunch/early dinner in China Town. Oh how I've missed wonton noodle soup. After that we just waited at Kings Station to get on our train to Vancouver. Once on the train I instantly decided to have a nap to kill an hour of the 4hr trip ahead of me. After that I got some mac n cheese and a beer and enjoyed the view. The passing coast line and country side was beautiful and I envy the people who get to call it home. Once again I was the first through customs which meant that I got to be the first to see Olly and Jannelle! Bring on the next few days in Vancouver :D Annelii xx
Happy Christmas
Scully woke up but barely moved for the warmth that was in and around her. A rich red blanket covered her, coming up to her chin and wrapping all around her body, tucked under her feet. The TV had carried on, a muted black and white episode of The Andy Griffith Show playing while the room had gone dark, save for a large vanilla candle on the wooden coffee table and the white glow emanating from the Christmas tree in the corner. Scully sighed, so comfortable as she sank even further into the cushions, and was enveloped by the smell of pine needles, and friendly and constant reminder of the time of year. The moment her thoughts became clearer they turned to Mulder, and then there was a quiet click at the door and it slowly opened. In stepped Mulder, black jacket over his dark blue v-neck sweater and jeans. Door shut and locked behind him, he sought out Scully. Her sleepy eyes met his and a sleepy smile formed to match her gaze. Coming over to the couch, Mulder flipped the TV off and picked Scully's blanket-wrapped feet and set them on his lap as he settled into the couch, resting his arm across the back. Scully shifted, though, flipping around to settle under Mulder's and into his side, which sheltered her perfectly. She tipped her face toward his and he answered with a long slow kiss. Before letting herself fall asleep in his arms, they waited together for the clock to strike midnight and they kissed long and slow once more. "Merry Christmas, Scully." "Merry Christmas, Mulder."
