017 — splish splash for @goodbyejoon
she had mentioned the pool party vaguely, in passing, on one of those nights where the hours seemed to stretch long and her fingers were sore from how tightly she had been gripping the yarn while crocheting a new type of coaster. she says something about not having anyone to go with and that going to the pool would be nice after sweating in the crowd for woodz. a great way to end yeonchella. or something like that.
she hadn't actually thought that joon would agree to go with her. though, maybe she had been baiting him the whole time. it doesn't matter. what matters is that they're going.
so they're at the rec center and jiahn wonders for a moment if she's made a mistake. she's in a bathing suit, of course, she's not a prude but even she's shocked when she walks inside to the pool's edge and the first thing she sees are two naked guys jumping into said pool.
oh my god. her eyes.
"what—" her words are cut off, shocked. actually, in hindsight, she probably shouldn't have been too surprised that people had decided to skinny dip in the pool but at the same time, she is very surprised.
which, of course, leads to drastic measures. there's a few options that she has, though the one that she wants to do the most (walking out) isn't plausible because despite the, ahem, nudity of her peers, she really did want to get into the water after a day melting in the sun.
so she goes with her next option, which admittedly is a bit random and not really correlated with the naked people in front of her. she turns to look at her friend, standing innocently next to her.
"hey oppa," she says, getting his attention and when he turns to look at her, she uses all of her strength, considering his size compared to hers.
to push him directly into the pool.
once again, hindsight is twenty twenty and she probably should've realized that she was absolutely unleashing a monster by doing that. and he would probably throw her in in retaliation. but the sound of minjoon hitting the water is too satisfying for her to have any regrets in the moment, and she lets out a loud laugh at the expression on his face before he's fully submerged.
absolutely worth it. she sees the bubbles forming on the surface and she sits down on the edge, legs in the water as she waits. there's no point in running, considering their difference in athletic ability so all she can do is wait and accept whatever revenge he has in mind.
"you look like a drowned rat," she calls out when he finally resurfaces, not even bothering to hide the shit-eating grin on her face. "i can't believe you just jumped in. that's crazy."
