Okay, I'm not sure we are discussing the same thing with each other....

I was saying that this person had complete faith that what is written in the Constitution is what is actually being enforced, which is obviously not the case with the US government both historically and currently.  Just because it is written in the Constitution that a person's rights should be protected doesn't mean that their rights are actually being protected.

... Yes?  That is why I am a libertarian.  I was pointing out the fact that this human apparently did not realize that extent of the historical role of government in the lives of minorities in society, which was shocking to me.
