I used to think for the longest time that the line was “WOOOO- OOH, YOUR LOVE IS GONE” which I thought was a multi-meaning stab at whoever it was shooting Mr. Jovi through the heart, a reference to the shooter having lost loves in the past making it harder to love again, but also that she cannot love at all. but it, in fact, turns out he was saying “ WOOOOO-OHH YOU’RE A LOADED GUN” and, personally, I think my version was better

and more recently I thought Gavin “Miracle of Sound” Dunne said that the soldiers of the Trenches were “Lost in terror Lost to time” but after looking up the lyrics for a completely separate reason, I learned that it is in fact “Lessons ever lost to time” which is grammatically better than mine, but dramatically? Probably still yes.

anyway, point is I’m a deaf bitch and Gavin is a better Lyricist than Bon
