ANISE: when it comes to self-care, what does your muse do to take care of themselves? do they take care to spend time on it, or do they feel they don’t deserve it?

He doesn’t really think of it as ‘self care,’ and he probably wouldn’t consider himself deserving if he did give it thought. But most of what would fit the definition is like… getting an ice cream or napping w/ his stuffed animals. Simple things he doesn’t think about. Anything that isn’t just… working, to feel like he’s being useful or to distract himself.

SANGUINE: does your muse typically have an optimistic, pessimistic, or some middle ground outlook on life?

It fluctuates in the moment with his emotional state, but I’d say in the long run he’s an optimist–hard to keep your eyes on a goal (that you’re objectively doing terribly at, even if you don’t realize) for 500,000 years without external validation, if you’re not at least a little optimistic.

And, hey, a big influence in his life seems like quite the optimist, too.

baby blossoms:    does your muse have a favorite scent? what is it, and why?

Mushrooms! Rather, it’s not a favourite, but something she’s very used to, and kinda misses now that she’s not back home. Earthy scents, like the smell of grass after rain, are generally her favourites, though she’s really partial to coffee smells too.

She doesn’t really know flowers, because they scarcely grow in the Night isles, but if she can try floral scents, she’ll fall head over heels in love with them.

Self care for her is downing the biggest bottle of wine she can get her hands on. It’s not really something she’s good at putting attention to most of the time. Heck, her assistant is the only thing making sure she sleeps in her bed and not at her desk, most of the time.

cool grey:    if your muse could ensure one thing for certain in their future to come, what would it be?

To be honest, she wants her assistant out of the Fortress and somewhere safe, and living a happy, comfortable life. She wants that for all of her Scientists, but for him especially. For herself, she doesn’t believe she has much of a chance at a good future, but if she can give it to those she cares about, that’s all that matters.

       roswell had never thought that refuge was a small town - in fact, after their brief time exploring the world, they had seen that refuge had been on the larger side of many settlements. but it was absolutely nothing compared to this place, and even roswell - as large as they were now that they had been re-connected to their clay body  - felt small. they were accustomed to routine, to knowing everyone in their home and all the buildings and scenery that came with it.. there was too much that was new and unaccounted for, and roswell actually felt....anxious. 

       it all felt wrong in a way that roswell wasn’t used to experiencing. even the very ground beneath their armored feet, beneath the concrete, beneath the foundation of the buildings felt different and alien to them. artificial, perhaps - and that thought unsettled them even more. the vermillion flycatcher’s wings fluttered, feathers puffed out and askew with head tilted in a manner almost reflecting a disheveled, uncomfortable humanoid as they tried to focus on anything else than the uneasy feeling quickly welling up inside. luckily for them, the fact that someone seemed to be intently speaking to - well, someone - was enough of a distraction, and one they were thankful for.

        he seemed to be speaking into an object roswell wasn’t familiar with, almost as if he were reciting a story of some sort - but the urgent, hushed tones he spoke with made them wonder if he was feeling that same, rising unease that they were. “ ....sir? are you alright? ” their voice - comically mismatched for their overbearing frame - was light and gentle. roswell’s helmet tilted downward ( causing more clay to slowly seep out of the faceplace ) , the bird crouching low to their shoulder as if to get a better look at the stranger.
