Day 7: Favorite

Amongst the BJDs, my "favorite" has to be these two:

In this picture, Trixie and Icky are dressed up as Winged Monkeys. These are my "Bridge Dolls." If I wind up living under a bridge, these are the two that will be under the bridge with me.

Meet Apple Pucker, in his original outfit, posing at the Lothlorien Nature Preserve.

He's a Goodreau Sid, 8" Critter of Whisker Woods. I was so pleased by how this shot came out.

Day 5: Match

All of these prompts REALLY resonate with my collection.

I... have a "twin" problem in my BJD collection.

Meet the Goodreau "Privera" twins and the Bobobie "Pixie" Twins. They're dressed to match! Interestingly, the Pixies are my first set of twins, and the second Privera was the most recent.

Goodreau "Secret" sculpt and "Mirror", which is the same mold, but in Cocoa. They're both vinyl dolls from the 2009 era. I just dressed Helen up as Rosie from Hazbin Hotel, so I put the special FX iridescent glass eyes in, with black backing to make her match the character.

I forgot that when I dressed Towana up in her Titanic Era Tea Gown she still had a set of those eyes installed from her Xmen Storm costume. So they match even more!

Stargazers! Goodreau "Rumor" in both resin and vinyl. Meet Roxy and Trixie! A peculiarity of the resin version is that the neck hole tends to tilt the head back. I've sueded it to try to prevent a stuck up look, but she still wants to look at the ceiling. I had to do some fiddling with Trixie to get her looking in the right direction.

Bruise and Bruce. 5Star Batboys. The grey one (that I blushed blue) is the original Bruce, but he started demanding to be called Damien. So when I got his twin brother, he asked if he could be Bruce, at which point Damien said, "Sure. You be Bruce. I'll be Bruise!" Damien/Bruise is also wearing the special FX eyes, and I light them up when he wears his devil horns.

This doesn't get into the twins I've bought and then sold, either. Or the cute elf twins who are hiding from me right now...

Day 23: Pattern

Since I sew, I'm going to interpret this as "clothing pattern."

And the most useful pattern I know, for dolls and humans alike, is the T-Tunic. It's a pattern that makes a very good shirt (tunic), dress, robe, and more. Here's a historically accurate text instruction website:

I use my server to finish the raw edges with a rolled hem, and sew a placket to the neckline to finish it. Depending upon the print of the fabric, you can get a lot of different looks.

Day 22: Style

I was scratching my head about this one, and then I realized that I have the BEST option for this prompt.

12" Goodreau Hint, wearing the Goodreau White rabbit outfit! This guy has *style*. He has *Swagger.*

Meet Jack. He's my best avatar of STYLE.

He's the 3rd Goodreau Hint I've owned. One was a dye experiment that I traded for my Octoboy. One was Alexander, a Mad Scientist. I sold him to a friend to be her daughter's first BJD.

I've owned a series of male-presenting dolls but more often than not I wind up selling or trading them.

Jack taught me *why*, so he's secured a permanent position in my collection.

I struggle to bond with make presenting dolls because I find men's fashion to be extremely boring. Trousers, shorts, shirts? Yawn. Suits? Zzzz. Sportswear? People check me for a pulse. I *play* with my dolls, and random men's casual wear isn't *fun*.

My boy dolls would maybe have one or two outfits and they never seemed to fit with my elaborate displays.

Jack came to me in a spectacular feminine outfit, complete with gorgeous shoes and a Monique Gold wig. I got him for the price of the wig alone, and I actually planned to steal the outfit for Jill and resell him. (See above; Jill is wearing the outfit in question.)

But Jack wants long hair. Jack wants *costumes*. Jack wants to express masculinity as Legolas, as a pirate king, as a mysterious wizard. I had the Goodreau Magician outfit and he wears it well. I started digging through the dollar bins at doll shows looking for Ken-sized costume pieces. I started thinking outside the box for his wigs.

I made him a wizard robe and hat. I bought a 12" Toybiz Legolas and stripped his outfit off for Jack.

Jack already has a spectacular wardrobe, in a doll trunk. I'm acquiring small doll hangers so I can hang his clothes up properly.

He has outfits for Prince Charming, Stage Magician, White Rabbit, Willy Wonka, 1970s Donnie Osmond and more!

I need to remember to include him more often, because the literally is my Fashion Icon. He has something for every occasion, and if he doesn't? He will insist that I make him something new.
