On August 19,2013, the Philippines was severely hit by torrential downpour from typhoon "Maring." The rains lasted nearly three days, but the damages are yet to be undone. In light of this calamity, Future Faces Manila decided to cancel Heartistry this year and instead shift its focus to helping those in need after the turmoil of Maring. 400 bags of relief aid were donated, Vice Mayor Tina Diaz selected families who were specifically in need of such help. Future Faces Manila spent a total of 39,206 pesos on relief efforts while 120,000 pesos were donated towards relief aid. Future Faces would like to thank the following for their heartfelt donations: Gold Peach Properties - 120,000 pesos worth of relief goods ATC Healthcorps- 100,000 pesos and their Truck to transport relief aid Donations: DW Capital 500,000 pesos Kevin Hsu 60,000 pesos Grace Tiu 50,000 pesos Angeles Family 39,000 pesos Henry Ting, Alfonso Tan, Peter Lei, Johnny Ching, James Chua- 30,000 pesos LS Pascual Optical- 20,000 pesos Each Relief Pack included: -Rubbing Alcohol -Tissue -6 or more cans of Ulam -2 Cans of Sardines -4 or more packs of Instant Noodles -A bag of rice -A litre of Water -2 packs of crackers.
