I've popped mine behind a cut, and it's a the same conversation I've edited for the billionth time and nothing new tonight... but still! Progress may be slow, but it's happening.

Good Things Chapter 14 WIP:

“Hey.” Randy said, a small frown on his face. “You’ve earned the right to choose how this ends, you know. To go out on your terms.” 

John huffed a laugh. “Punk said the same thing.” 

“Well, yeah. Truth be told, JC, we’re all watching you. Guys like me and Punk? We’re all thinking about how this could end for us when the time comes. If injury doesn’t get us first.” Randy laughed wryly, scrubbing a hand over his head. “When you’re done, it’ll be AJ’s turn next, then who knows?”  

“It’d be great to have one more match with AJ.” John said, aiming for casual but sounding more wistful.  

Randy nudged his knee with his own. “Then make it happen. You’ve got nothing else to lose. Hunter clearly doesn’t have a plan for you, so take the first step!”

Good Things Chapter 10 is up on AO3.

It's time for Night of Champions, and John finally reaches his real rock bottom.

We're back, baby! Now real life has caught up a bit I can finally resume writing Good Things, and gosh what a chapter to jump back into. Please heed the chapter warnings, it's all skimmed and vague but it's there and it's important to protect yourselves.

Heading towards the SummerSlam chapter I'm feeling good about the direction I've got for the boys now. John's hitting his lowest point, and then he can beginning the slow climb back up again. My poor little guy, I've put him through a lot.

Chapter 12 of Good Things is up on AO3.

The summer is over, and the fic is flowing again! (sort of)

It's SummerSlam, where John and Cody take those first important steps towards fixing things between them.

This is a pretty shameless sex-and-chat chapter. I was going to play-by-play the match but honestly, sex-and-chat was more the vibe for them I think. They've earned it 😂

Screwed is finally getting an update next, it's Punk's turn for HIS SummerSlam. I am ready to write some MAN PAIN 👀

Chapter 11 of Good Things is up on AO3.

Gosh okay. Here we go. The road to SummerSlam 2025, and the beginning of Cody and John's reconciliation.

This chapter was hard, I won't lie to you. It's kind of a filler chapter, but it's also 8k of filler so I don't think it counts after that! As the title suggests, there's a lot of talking 😂 But now everything is in line for SummerSlam, which I will be slowly working on (along with the SummerSlam chapter of Screwed) from a boat heading to Rotterdam as I'm off on vacation for a week!

I can't believe Cagematch didn't have the Cody promo I needed so I had to go onto Netflix and transcribe it myself while he's looking at me like THIS.

Ugh no wonder John is struggling in this chapter 😂

It's still kind of blowing my mind that one of the biggest plot points of Good Things: the kayfabe-friendly reasoning behind John's heel turn to keep him humanised through the events of 2025, has turned out to be the reason WWE creative have used for this apparent face turn on last night's SmackDown.

Clearly I should be in that writer's room 😂
